Playground AI Filter Breakdown Part 1. Hello everyone! As requested by you today I will breakdown 4 of the new filters that were added to Playground AI. We'll cover RPG 4.0, Realistic Vision 2.0, Protogen 3.4 & 5.3. All of these models do photorealism very well but definitely not limited to it. If you are not trying out stable diffusion models, you are definitely missing out!

I’m really loving playground, and your videos, They are great for me as I’m not very tech savvy & it’s easy to use. I however only have an iPad, so can’t use the canvas, i don’t think it’s optimised yet for the iPad. Any idea when? Also would love to see more videos on the filters, especially which are good for non human generations.. I enjoy under the sea themes and all the apps I’ve tried so far don’t really know the anatomy of basic marine life. So I struggle. Any idea which would be the best for settings for digital art? Hi there! Yes we are very aware that many users are on some sort of mobile device and we've identified this as a need. Unfortunately I don't have a timeline at the moment. As for what you want to create, if you have access to canvas but you can do this on board...what I like to do is create an image in SD1.5 with no filters and get it to a point where I get a decent image of what I'm thinking of. Then I will use a seed or run it through img2img and try different filters. It's a great exercise for you to try because we all have different tastes and preferences, and what I recommend to you may not be what you are looking for. I will say Deliberate and Realstic vision are good all around versatile filters to start with but experiment with the rest!

It always help to see examples as you do here, so covering the other filters/models would be nice. I see you have updated the spreadsheet, thanks a lot for that, it will be very useful :) Oh, and could you add the prefered samplig method/guidance/details on the spreadsheet too, please? (knowing these are suggestion, not requirements) another edit: I was trying the new filters in the past few days, without the trigger words, and it makes a great difference when using them!

Hi Eskaron, funny you mention that, I had just added some of that information to the spread sheet and will add more eventually. I will definitely cover the rest of the filters soon! Yes the trigger words can make a difference on the look and feel. Sometimes not as noticeable but other times it can be very evident. Really depends on the image and the subject. I've found with people you can see quite the difference.

Can’t really tell you as I’ve not done too many of these kinds of images. What I like to do is generate one image, use the seed to recreate it with other filters to see what’s best for that image. Deliberate is a good all around filter to start with even rev animated.

THANK YOU! this is very helpful . . . you are helping me to break through blocks and confusions. However, when I click on "filter" I only have 3 options 1) None, 2) Close up portrait and 3) old timey. If I enter into the text search box words like "Masterpiece" or "warm room" - it tells me that these cannot be found. Please help . . . .

Hi Russell, sounds like you are on SD 2.1, change that to SD 1.5 from the model menu on the right and all the filters will be accessible. Appreciate the feedback and support and please let us know how else we can help!

The 3 new filters I like best is ReVAnimated, it has a has an kind of anime look without looking like anime​, Dream shaper, has a great fantasy look and Counterfeit 3, I've done some really unique looking surreal landscape images with that one. Keep them coming. A Generative fill features (wink, wink) would be great too.

RevAnimated is a popular one and I personally like that one as well, counterfeit too but then again I love all of them hahaha! Generative fill would be amazing wouldn't it? If the tech's out there...anything is possible. 👍 Appreciate the feedback my friend!

Hi Juliana, absolutely! I originally planned to do all 9 but the video was way too long and I couldn't really go in depth so I decided to split them up in to a series of videos. Revanimated, Protogen Anime 2.2, Dreamshaper and Counterfeit are all great for 2D, anime, non-photorealistic. I'll be covering those next! Quick tip though, even the 4 filters I covered in this video can do non-photorealistic images, you just have to add it to your prompt, like 2D, Anime, comic book etc. 👍

I've been creating illustrations without filters on Stable Diffusion 2.1 and then using image to image with some of these filters, but I always feel like I don't know what I'm doing. I've also been using Canvas to extend my images and erase things, but I'm not having much luck with the pencil tool. I look forward to learning more from you. : ))

I would really appreciate a video on ALL the different filters. Specifically what subjects or types of pictures look best in specific filters. I have found the two filters and the 3-4 types of pictures that I generate but I'd like to branch out more but it would help to know the things that the filters are best for (if that makes sense)

Hi Gabrielle, Part 2 is in the works. Best thing to do is to experiment but it does take some time. Many of the newer filters are trained mostly on people but can do animals, landscapes etc very well. Will definitely go through this in more depth very soon. Appreciate the feedback!

Best to experiment and it’s more about the prompt and style you want. However I’d start with revanimated, deliberate, dreamshaper. That might make a good video topic to cover 👍🏼

i love ReVAnimated cuz FOR SOME WEIRD REASON....is the only filter that let's create human beings standing (full body is visible), do you guys now more filters that let you do that please?

Technically all the filters can do this, it’s more about your prompt and perhaps using seeds. Revanimated is pretty easy to prompt. Will cover this topic soon!

Hello friend, unfortunately because I haven't tried myself I can't answer that however you can start with the Deliberate filter, it is one of the most versatile filters on playground. Realistic vision is a good one too. The other thing I like to do is just use standard Stable Diffusion 1.5 to get a general sense of the image, then either use a seed or image to image and run it through several filters to get the best results.
