Nice vlog man! I think you should definitely be playing the AK. I don’t remember if you said what the SPR was but I think it should be a jam. Just a little too passive to fold if you didn’t think he was a complete nit. Also, you should be using bigger sizes with your bets. Keep pumping out these vlogs!

Hi Austin thanks for the comment! Looking back at the preflop charts it should be a jam all in you are correct, and YES definitely one of my biggest weaknesses is my bet size. I think my plan next time I play is to really focus on proper bet sizing and not play so afraid! Thanks for the support!

Nice vlog. 👍🏼 The K9s hand I would keep barreling turn. The Q hits your range a lot. The AK hand is tricky when I’m deep I would just flat a raise if there isn’t any limpers in between or call a 4bet. When 100bb or shorter I’m just 5 betting getting it in.

Great video, dude. As played, I would just rip the AK. I would’ve personally 3bet to 40-50, then you can just call a 4bet jam, or 5bet jam yourself if he click 4bets to like 120~. 1/3 hand selections are so weak by most opponents, we really have to be punishing with our 3bets, hence making them very big. So often at horseshoe someone will open to 15, and call my 55 3bet with like J9o it’s crazy. So maximize and play big pots with your premium hands. Now with that being said, you probably shouldn’t be pushing small edges 5betting AK all in if you don’t have a decent bankroll, so that’s another factor. But great vlog keep up the great work. And oh yeah, make it 25 in the BB with that AQ after the limps 😎

Hey Mat Thanks for the comment! Yea I really wasn't sure about why I folded the AK hand. I think It was I just really wanted to end the trip on a positive note but I should have played that better. Hopefully next time I play I really focus on bet sizing that seems to be the big problem of mine. As for Horseshoe, I need to get back there soon! I will definitely let you know when I am around so you can take a stab at my stack haha. Also, do you have any advice for playing AK post flop? Sometimes I don't know what to do when I see a 9 high board or something.
@matryan3532
@matryan3532 3 жыл бұрын
@@ESPPoker I’m actually glad you said post flop with the AK, because after I wrote the comment, I was thinking that calling the $50 more is actually a viable option. If I remember correctly, we’re in position, correct? The problem so many people have with AK is they’re lost when they don’t flop a pair. But the real power behind AK is that it’s still strong on a lot of boards, ie: 744, 234, 55T etc. the real raggy ones. The 4better obviously has the range advantage, but our range is still pretty strong when we 3b/call. So boards where we flop gutters with our overs are great, like QT5, JT6 etc. And again, being that most 1/3 can’t size correctly (not to mention flop sizes should be extremely small in 4bet pots) , a lot of the time you’ll be able to realize your equity quite well. There’s $150 in the pot and villain might bet $45, and you can peel. Even though villains range is probably looking like JJ+ AQo+, you’d be surprised at how often someone will 4bet 55 or 9Tss or something. And we’ll be able to realize equity with positional advantage. Especially when the board comes 347 they cbet, check on 4 turn, and we can take it down with a bet since we have TT-QQ in our 3bet/call range. I could go on forever. Lemme know next time you’re going to horseshoe and we’ll kick it. It’s way easier to talk hands in person rather than typing haha.

Mat Ryan Haha thanks for the advice! And yes I was in position. I think I need to work on c bets in general. Hope to kick it soon!

On the hand with KKK on board, you had a tell. Before he called, you grabbed one card in your hand, this normally means you have a hand like an A. Bets and raises should be a little bigger, AK 3 bet should be 35-40. He might still 4 bet you, then you have a tough decision, if he is active, I would continue. If he looks nitty I may let it go depending on his raise size and stacks. Overall, I think your play is improving nicely, just size up a little on your raises.
@ESPPoker
@ESPPoker 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment Doug! Totally agree sizing is a big issue of mine and I appreciate the feedback. Also, with that AK3KK board he was actually very close to folding, then I decided to look at my cards and keep my hand on one. Not sure if that helped him make the call but that actually makes a lot of sense next time ill make sure to just keep my hands off my cards. Thanks again!

Are you allowed to sit down, play, and leave whenever you want? Say you sit for 20 minutes and win a few hands, can you get up and keep what you won? Or do you have to beat everyone at the table?
@ESPPoker

You can leave whenever you want! Yep you could sit down for 20 minutes and win a few hands then leave. That's the nice thing about cash games is you decide how long you play for. When I am ready to go all I do is rack up my chips and leave the table
