Great vlog as always Greg and Jenny! Just wanted to make a small video suggestion: Your videos on how some players are unbeatable (Viktor, Zheng/Huang) are very entertaining and informative, perhaps you could consider making one on Chen Qing Chen and Jia Yi Fan? Being a 4 time world champion and then winning a Super 1000 tournament straight after a 3rd consecutive world title isn't an easy achievement 😅, and I'm sure lots of people would want to know more about their game! Keep up the great work and good luck to you in your upcoming tournaments!

Another great blog. The level of competition available daily is so important. For my elementary badminton team last year everyone improved so much as we played so often. In my school board we had the best girls singles player, best male single, best girls double and second best, best mixed double and 3rd best, best boys doubles. Playing against one another every day for nearly 6 months paid off. A lot of extra time volunteering as a coach but worth it

As always I love your positive perspective and energy as pro players and ambassadors to the game. On my first day in China, I had so much difficulty getting from the airport to my hotel. When I PRINTED my itinerary, the hotel address was in English, but the Chinese characters didn't properly convert (they were simply black blocks). At the airport, the tourist desk suggested I take a bus into the city. I did so and got dropped off at some random bus station. There, I tried to get a taxi to drive me to the hotel. 4 taxis stopped but wouldn't take the fare because they didn't understand the English name and address of my hotel. Eventually, one boldly did pick me up but didn't know where the hotel was. He would shout out to the people on the street for assistance. Eventually, I got to my hotel. Fortunately, I withdrew RMBs from the airport ATM and was able to order lunch and dinner by pointing at what I wanted. This was over 10 years ago, and I didn't have a smart phone with a SIM care or cool apps. I ended up spending a month in China; it was good trip with good people.

I love the behind the scenes look at pro tournaments. How do you deal with hotels an flights on a budget, since you don't know how long you'd be there? Do you just extend your stay if needed, or is there a pool of hotel room prearranged for players? That sounds stressful in a new country with no friends or family as a backup.

Thanks Alan ☺️🏸 and yes probably, but we think our daily lives are boring & nobody would want to watch that (this is potentially our own imposter syndrome though haha)

Great to see you enjoy China! Random question: do you take your racket bags/rackets as hand luggage when flying?
@BadmintonInsight

We put them in our check in suitcase (hard suitcase), and then make sure the rackets are wrapped in towels / clothes for extra protection!

Really nice vlog. Its always fun making a vlog in a different country. can you guys do a match where you use the following challenges: blindfold rally rally using your non-dominant hand. play a game with a tiny racquet rally while hopping on one foot rally while spinning around between shots play badminton with a wall as the net Play a game where you must touch the net after every shot. Play a game with a partner using a racket in each hand. Play a game with a partner using a racket and a balloon as a shuttle. everytime you win a point, a randomiser will select a number from 1 to 9, and you must perform the challenge. continue until 1 person reaches 11 points.

Do you use Google Lens or similar to translate menus via phone image? That's what I do in foreign countries then just point to what I want. I know it can be more complicated than that in some places though e.g. Hand written menu on the wall or lack of menus 😅

@@BadmintonInsight apparently it's possible to download the language packs before hand for offline translation in Lens (at least on Android). But at least in Hong Kong a bit more people speak English 😁
