@@dazcarrr the guide still exists in calamity mod, you can see him use the guide multiple times in the video. Calamity does a pretty good job of matching vanilla terraria's tutorializing, which is to say, it gives you vague hints whenever you progress, makes boss summons chest findable, automatic, or optional, and expects you to read the wiki for everything else. That's terraria, it's all like that, modded and vanilla both. Get recipe browser and boss checklist if that bothers you, they're both great mods.

Very excited to finally see someone embrace the TRUE Calamity experience, how it was meant to be played. Personally though, I’m even more excited for there to never be a second episode. ​@@Imaperson1020 I always get a material from an enemy or boss and forget to go on the wiki (saying ill do it later) only for it to collect dust in my chests forever. being able to have a concise wiki via a press of a button. recipe browser is essential.

@@borsalinokizaru7450 Knowing his artistic capabilities and imagination he had some options, for example he could have used the simple plains, another example could be golden bricks ( if I'm not mistaken he could convert his platinum in gold somehow in calamity, also I don't care that his challenge implied no wiki ), or he could just use another type of cheese ( another color ) for building

calamity may have its flaws, but all of the tiles and furniture that it adds to terraria makes it a must-have mod for housing. I think it has some other stuff, but it’s really just side-content compared to the building tools.

I'm doing a rogue playthrough, and literally everything can be worked out by just exploring and using the guide... but if I'm going to spend hundreds of hours on this mod even a ten percent increased time spent exploring could amount to tens of hours. i have so many play hours in calamity, and the wiki is so important to me that i would marry it and start a family with it. i cant really be mad, since terraria in general doesnt really tell you what to do. but its a lot harder to memorize what the fuck is happening. Maybe its for the best, because lack of direction made me say "WHY ARE THERE DRAGON STEROIDS" once. and i think about that a lot.

you don't have to do this, but I think you should play on Revengeance mode, as It's the "Intended Calamity experience" and it changes a few things but the feature I like most about Revengeance/Death mode are the rage/adrenaline bars. the rage bar increases the closer you are to an enemy (and probably some other factors i dont know) and when you press the button that you have set to rage once the bar fills, you get a 35% damage boost for a few seconds. As for the adrenaline bar, you can only use it during a boss fight, and when you don't get hit during a boss fight, your adrenaline fills up, but when you get hit it completely disappears. When the adrenaline bar is filled up, you can use it to gain a 200% damage boost. other commenters correct me if im wrong

1:04 Funnily enough, I criticised your video not really including what I would consider QoL mods, but rather I would consider all of these mods cheating. But I still use other mods for QoL, like magic storage because I won't bother to sort 10 thousand different items from Calamity. But even still I think the comment in the top right here is amazingly stupid. I played what he described without any of the mods you used in the last video, it's not a 100 hour grind, not even close. The guy is just bad at the game and instead of admitting that he needs it a bit easier, he tries to justify himself. It would only be such a long grind, well, much longer than 100 hours even, if you wanted to be a completionist and gets EVERYTHING. But just beating every single boss? That won't take such a long grind, getting main armor sets and good accessories and weapons is easy in these mods. You pretty much just kill the boss you're on 2-4 times and you're good. Then a little mining inbetween and you're totally fine to go to the next boss. TLDR: I use quality of life mods, albeit none of the ones cheese made fun of, but even I think the guy in the top right is being stupid.

Watching some parts , knowing calamity (at least 1.3 version) relatively well , is painfull. Still very entertaining. One thing: Can you please read what stuff do before trashing it?
