Keep up the great work mate! Love seeing this more real golf that most of us are familiar with and I love your attitude towards the game. Would love to play a round with you some time.

Love your attitude, another good vlog. Would be cool to perhaps have a KZbin match one day? I'd happily travel to Wales. I'm based in dorset so South Wales isn't too bad for me to get too. We're a similar handicap so should be a good match

Never seen a ball drop into the cup ricochet off the back of the cup and settle inches away. You're right that was unique and I've seen my share of lip outs. Everybody makes a face.

That's what golf is all about James, having fun🥳too many people have lost the art in being able to laugh at yourself 😂...if you hit a bad shot it's pointless being annoyed because it's already happened!!so just try to be better on the next shot.... really enjoy watching your progress James 🎊🎉🌟

Nice to meet you too mate. It was lucky to find that first ball on the 3rd as the provisional was totally lost in that hedge on the left. That 4th green caught me out the same as you with a double bogey. It seemed almost unplayable it was that fast but still fun to play. Thanks for watching and good luck with the rest of your rounds for 2022! - James

Just a comment on your putting, when you felt you couldn't make a putt with the Calloway, why not try the same putt again with your normal ball and see if it's just you on the day and not the ball choice. I quite often play 9 holes with 2 different balls on each hole,( if the course is quiet), you get to play 18 holes but only have to walk 9 !! and from experience I can tell you that I can hit a poor shot or putt with either, or more often with both balls. Cheers.

Always enjoy your videos James. Great camera work, good commentary, fun courses and a wonderful attitude. I'm 70 years old with a 16 hdcp and I find less enjoyment watching the pros than I do the amateurs. Keep up the good work.
@notaperfectgolfer34892 жыл бұрын
Cheers mate. Well done on the 16 hcp that's no mean feat. I hope to still be playing at your age. Even off the reds just for fun it's truly a great game. Thanks for watching :-)

70 and playing off of 16.. that's amazing.. what was the lowest you have ever been?
@125jhp82 жыл бұрын
@@RealgolfWD Started playing golf five years ago when I retired. Fell in love with the sport. So far 16 is as low as it's been. Hope to steadily lower it over the next few years.

An 18-hole golf course in Conwy has been placed on the market for £1,490,000. Silver Birch Golf Club, also known as as Betws yn Rhos Golf Club near Abergele, has been running since 1995. Thought I recognised the name.

I like the Callaway Chrome soft or Truvis. They are great around the greens, I get a lot of spin. How's the compression on the Srixon? Maybe it was the green speed and not the ball.
@notaperfectgolfer34892 жыл бұрын
Srixon soft feel is 70 for compression which is ideal for slower swing speeds like mine. I agree the Truvis ball is amazing for chipping at pitching around the greens. I'll probably try it out again on camera as it looks great with the spin being recorded. THanks for watching :-)

You have been a gauge to compare my progress as we started around the same time. My official handicap is currently 18 but I play like a bandit, much to our greenkeepers annoyance! Yesterday I went and shot 81 so I guess they're right! It's been fun and irritating at times watching how you made rapid progress. Finally I'm beginning to join consistency with length! Putting has been a real chore but with the aid of a mirror I've finally found the hole, more often than not.
@notaperfectgolfer34892 жыл бұрын
Cheers Rob, congrats on the 81. 79 is the next target like me! haha :-) When I play boring golf and play the percentages my scores seem to always be better. Thanks for watching mate

Hi James. Been watching you for while now and enjoying your progress, having had similar problems with my driver going right I had a lesson to try and correct my swing. It looks like you have a very similar swing to mine at the start. Your right shoulder is already set to slice the ball, might be worth watching your video to see if I'm right. I was told to straighten or pull my right shoulder back. Works instantly 😳😳🤞
@notaperfectgolfer34892 жыл бұрын
You're right, it's the same fault my golf coach pulled me up on from day 1. I try to straighten out the right shoulder during my pre shot routine but it doesn't always work! Thanks for watching :-)

Well Played. Good practise indeed. Par 4 at 175yds!!?? - not sure that a sensible par. Was there something about that hole that I missed?
@notaperfectgolfer34892 жыл бұрын
It's more uphill than it looks but Par 4 is what it says on the card. I'll definitely take any birdie I can! :-)
@stefanosg14322 ай бұрын
It's massively uphill, so it plays more like 200y and the green slopes heavily front to back. It's almost impossible to hold the green in one shot, anything pitching on will certainly go long and there's a ridge just before the green which makes pitching short to bounce/roll on very unlikely.

Hi James - a quick note - the stroke index of a hole is not necessarily related to its difficulty. The indexes should be spread across the holes so that, in matchplay, a golfer will get strokes spread out. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stroke_Index.

@notaperfectgolfer34892 жыл бұрын
My good distance control and accuracy with my iron approach shots seems to be the main reason I've dropped to 12. Keep the ball in play off the tee and simply play boring golf. Don't go for any hero shots when there is trouble ahead. With a bit of chipping and putting practice you should be low 80s nearly every round. There's more than one way to skin a cat! :-) Thanks for watching and good luck with the rest of your rounds for 2022.
