hello youtube!! has it been 8 months since i last uploaded on this channel? yes... for those who are unaware, a few months ago i had an issue with a corrupted hard drive that had my FF7 recordings on it. i was in the middle of editing part 2 of my FF7 playthrough when it corrupted, and honestly i lost a lot of motivation to re-edit it. someday those final parts of FF7 will be uploaded, but i'm not sure when. i'm sorry it's been so long but i am happy to finally upload a supercut of my FFX reactions. i really enjoyed playing this game last year, and going back through the footage and editing this video down made me love the game even more. i hope you enjoy watching my playthrough.

1:18:22 Your reaction here is priceless 😂 They hide him from view so well and the shock afterwards like "Bitch!! Why won't you die already!!?" I already know the whole game. So I am also glad you enjoyed it. I won't say whether you will see Tidus again or not but I can say FFX-2 is wacky but fun and you have to do I think 100% i think to see a special scene if I remember. Better to watch the scene on its own later on if you ever play that game and finish it. This game is a piece of my heart. It is so good

What happened to Anima? If you achieved that Aeon you'd unlock a few bonus stoey segments that are rather nice. Also, returning to the temples at the right time before spawning dark aeons allows you to not only get great items where the fayth lay... but you have cut scene conversions with the Fayth!

I always loved how the ending didn't just have one tearjerker moment, but several salt-in-the-wound details that really made the pain of their separation stick. Real pain like that doesn't leave you. The physical pain of her head hitting the floor and watching the Fayth rise up, that little overlap when he hugs her, the complexity in her whistling denoting that she's been practicing for weeks and Lulu has to come get her. It's those f'n details, man.

When Yuna says "...or the dreams that have faded..." under her breath is what gets me. Tidus was both a person she lost and a dream that faded. Her dream of spending her days with him after conquering Sin also faded. Poignant.

Always happy to see someone play through my first and favorite Final Fantasy. This game always hits home and seeing others experience it is precious. Ending always makes me cry every time. For those that don't know: In Japanese rather than saying "I love you" I believe she says thank you which I feel hits as hard 😢
@StrifeSoul990
@StrifeSoul990 Ай бұрын
I agree. It's something like "thank you for helping me on this journey." And I agree that both phrases have the same meaning. They love each other, but I feel the Japanese version shows that Yuna refuses to let it break her, she knows that he has to go. So she thanks him for changing her life, for saving her. This game also has a lot of moments like that, specifically with Jecht and Tidus. The fact that neither of them say the words "I love you" but the feeling is real. One of Tidus' last words are "I hate you" which is his way of telling Jecht that he loves and forgives him. Just like how Jecht can't say it, but he loves his son more then anything and is at peace in the end. So while I prefer the English "I love you" I think both are a perfect encapsulation of love.

I was 17 when this came out and I remember plowing through it during Christmas break 2001. This game broke me. For a whole generation of gamers, FF7 taught us how to deal with loss, FFX taught us what true love was. I remember by mom walking in my room during the ending to check on me as I was ugly crying. I couldn't tell if she was relived or disappointed that it was from a videogame. lol

I want to preface what I am about to say by stating that FF 7 is legitimately my favourite game, of all time. [I have a lot of games I love, including this one, but it's not even close between 7 and the rest, really] However, I can't agree with the statement that it taught people how to grieve. For me, playing it for the first time in, I believe 1998 as a 14 year old, it taught me that character's you can grow attached to, can get killed off, and that can have a big affect on your experience. And yes, I was PO when they did what they did to you know who, [don't know why I'm trying not to spoil it, the games 27 years old, we're way past spoiler territory] for multiple reasons, but one of the primary ones was a practical one. But FF 7 never taught me how to deal with loss. Because, knowing this from personal experience, NOTHING can teach you how to deal with grief. When someone you love is gone, and you know you will never see them again, it always stays with you, no matter how much therapy, no matter what techniques you learn to cope with it, grief, it is always a heart beat away and it can be set off at a moments notice. No game, no matter how much you love it, can ever teach you how to deal with it. I still find myself occasionally crying about my mum being gone, and it will be 20 years in 2024, and even typing those words makes me sombre. My point is, trying to say that games can teach people about that sort of thing, it trivialises what is for everyone, a very personal experience, and one that we all go through differently. Ultimately, no fiction can ever mirror what we all go through in real life. And while it may hurt [it undoubtedly will] it's also a good thing. To paraphrase Tidus, we are all on our own stories. [and we all only get 1]

Only 2 games have ever made me cry and FFX is one of them.. It still gets me HARD every time.. I really don’t see how other FF games are talked about in higher regard than this, it’s peak FF at every level with a story so strong nothing in terms of FF could ever come close.. This is the best. After all those times playing it, it still hits just as hard. Nice job capturing most of the best moments here, and forcing us all to cry along with you at just about every opportunity... 😢 What a game. If it's held up this well after 20 years, it's never gonna get old.

I kinda loved revisiting this game by watching this - nice edit! I think I appreciate FFX-2 more each time I think about FFX. It has its flaws, but I think it’s the perfect continuation in a lot of ways. Hope you play it if you haven’t already!

I would disagree. I think it's a good game, but as a sequel it's really really bad.

@@BigFry9591 I get it. There’s some parts I’d rather change or remove, sure, but even beyond the gameplay (which I quite like), I think it’s really novel that the sequel even exists. *vague spoilers below* It’s kind of fascinating that a character gets to develop (and lose) a love interest, as well as her entire reason for being, and on top of that, the world has lost its singular pillar (the church of Yevon), and now the creators go: “okay, so what’s next?” So many Final Fantasy games end with you ‘saving the world’, but you leave it completely changed. This is one of the few games to consider what happens to a world that’s forced to deal with that.

We were so spoiled in those days. In 5 years from 1997-2001 we got FF VII, VIII, IX, and X. We got 4 fantastic mainline Final Fantasy games in 5 years. Online games aside, it took 17 years for us to get XII, XIII, XV, and XVI. Glad you're enjoying these amazing games and reliving the golden years. Have fun!

Yooo! I watched your playthrough vods (well, all the story and reaction material parts) on twitch. Thanks for playing this absolute masterpiece! I really get a kick out of watching guys play it for the first time and get emotionally dismantled towards the end :D You should at least check out the first little bit of FF X-2... While it doesn't begin to measure up to the god-tier masterpiece that FFX is, at least the beginning is great reaction material for someone who's played through FFX first :D

I glad i have this kind of attachment to this game. because everytime i see someone playing and reacting to it, it reminded me of my childhood. back then i didnt understand the story that much (was like 12-13 yo?) but now since people still playing it, i get to know the full story and also realized how cringe the laughing scene was haha it also still never fails to make me cry a lot even when im already 29 this year lol. now i have a wife and a son, i always told my wife that she should know this is my favorite game of all time. maybe i can play this with my son when hes a bit older. anyways, thanks for sharing the journey. u got urself a follower :)

What happened to Anima? If you achieved that Aeon you'd unlock a few bonus stoey segments that are rather nice. Also, returning to the temples at the right time before spawning dark aeons allows you to not only get great items where the fayth lay... but you have cut scene conversions with the Fayth!

I'm one of the few who love x-2 more than x. TBH, I felt it did a great job of exploring a world putting itself back together and moving on from generational tragedy. It has so much heart and sadly got so much hate for being 'a girly game'. I think it was really good, though, and is definitely worth a play.

FFX genuinely influenced a lot about me. I play piano because of To Zanarkand. I draw and design because of Anima. And I cannot play a game without a good story because of this story. Like nothing compares. Actually really, I dont enjoy playing games much at all. But I can literally go through this game indefinitely. I don't get tired of it. Every little detail is perfect.
