That was actually fun to watch! I love it when he came back the second time and expected you to be where you were last time. Then he was startled to find you in an "unexpected" place. It's great to realize dogs can absolutely reason about where you will "likely" be. Like doing probability in his mind, and then being like, "I did not expect you to be under there hooman!!"

Hide and seek with the dog is a lot of fun. Even more fun with 2 people. One person distracts the dog while the other runs off and hides. It's a great game to play while hiking in the woods. Used to do that with my daughter. As soon as the dog would run off to find my daughter, I would run off in the opposite direction. Drove the dog nuts but she loved it

It is a fun game. For some reason at certain age we think it is not suitable to be played with other people anymore. Why must it be so? Doing things we did as a kid would be healthy for us in many ways.

There's nothing like a Lab. My GF and I used to fish the McCloud river in NorCal. Our lab would be off exploring as we fished. We'd hide in the forest and watch as she tracked us from the river to where we were hiding. Those were some of the best times of my life.
