Hey, everybody! Some of you may have heard me talk about my bear journal and my experiences with a recurring dream about a bear. I pulled the bear journal out last week and I've been doing a little work in it.

I dream of my momma quite often. She was 52 yrs old when she died. I was in my 30s... raising my kids. She loved teddy bears. I make a card to honor my momma to go into all my journals. Most of them are bear themed. Her birthday is coming up in May, I will probably add something to my latest journal. She journaled and wrote prayer books and scriptures- she prayed over the family- each man, woman and child by name. My brother has her books ( just store boughten)But I have her habits... she’s been gone 24 yrs, she is so missed! I cherish her visits in my dreams😊never scary. I like your bear journal.

My mom died at 46 from suicide. I was 25. And it has been 24 years too. April 19, 2000. Crazy that i have lived longer than her. Im sorry you lost your mom so early. We have been robbed of so many memories that will never happen. I didnt have my son until the following year and i hadnt even been married a year. She hadnt even saw our property we closed on that valentines day. Never gets easier, at least for me. God Bless you!

Love your collection of bears I think we all go through a face of liking bears I use to collect figurines of bears I only have one left it’s a little girl hugging a bear and it plays music I’m attatched to this one thanks for sharing❤️

Lynn, I love your bear journal! We have bears up at the cabin and they are beautiful creatures. So far they have been very skittish of humans, however, I always have my head on a swivel when I'm out gardening. LOL. I would like to make a bear journal after seeing yours. I do have rings on my personal junk journal. They are super easy to work with and you can always move stuff around if you want to. Thanks for showing us your lovely work! 🩷🩷🩷

Hi Lynn, Your bear journal collection is spectacular! Your creativity has turned your fearful dreams into introspection, seeking wisdom, and finding courage within yourself. Michaela is part of you, and you are both so intuitive. Not surprised she took on your dream, maybe to help protect you. One of your commentors @melsa37 asked if you ever talked to the bear. I loved her suggestion. Perhaps, before going to sleep, ask the bear your question. Bears are one of my spirit animals, but never dream about them. I do have dreams of T-Rex dinosaurs. Maybe I should try to talk to mine. Your video today, really was emotional and heartfelt. And the comments from your friends were emotional and heartfelt as well. 💕

I love this ring journal! I have started using rings as I got frustrated with sewing in signatures. I have MS and Lyme and sometimes I am really weak. A journal is always a work in progress as it reflects where we are in our life. Like you,I started with nightmares during my first marriage. I’m usually trying to get away from a deranged person trying to kill me. I still wake up,to this day, screaming. Art is a respite for me.

Hi Lei! Very good point about the ease of using rings. Sounds like the theme of some of my dreams. The other stressful dream is driving around lost. It’s not really a nightmare but still very stressful. ❤️🙏🏻 I’m sorry you have dreams that wake you up like that.

If you put the postcards in glassine envelopes you could see them without having to punch holes in them. And yes, dreams can definitely be divine. And we definitely can share thoughts; we are all of one body after all.

My sister's boyfriend was killed in a car accident at 17 yrs old... I dreamed that I was seeing that accident EVERY night for months and he always got up and walked away and was fine. I would then wake up to remember all over again that he died. This impacted my life terribly because it was causing me to not get good rest, but, even worse, waking up to remember he died triggered grief every single morning. It lasted for months. Then, one night in the dream he actually died. That was the last time I dreamed the accident. It was such a relief! It was definitely my way of processing that loss and not being able to let go. 😢

You can add a little bit of paper to the sides of pages you don’t want holes in and put holes in that.

I like the look of that journal. Rings are an easy way to keep everything together without having to make covers and binding--I'm kind of lazy that way. Dreams are definitely fascinating. Perhaps stress and anxiety make the dreams more vivid? And I know that children pick up on the subtle, nonverbal cues from their environment. They're very intuitive.

@@abitofbirdsong Next time you have the dream, try to ask the bear if it has a message for you. Bears are very spiritual animals, it may just be trying to get your attention about something.

The bear journal is great!! I lost my parents as a child and my aunt and uncle raised me at 7. I would have a recurring dream for years I was on a plane and my parents were at the front of the plane , aunt uncle in the back of plane and each was coaxing me to come sit with them. I was so torn and then would wake up. Dreams are interesting!

I find it interesting that you have a bear journal yet have this reoccurring bear dream that is terrifying! I definitely believe that dreams are our subconscious dealing with something in your life. Specifically I think stress or trauma. My husband grew up in the inner city and was in a gang, lots of violence! His father was violent to him. He entered the military where he witnessed lots of violence and death. He began acting out his dreams in his 40’s. His dreams are always violent and lots of times he is running from someone who is trying to kill him or me. He has hit me, bruised my face, and thrown himself out of bed. He has been to numerous VA psych docs and therapy. Recently he was diagnosed with sleep apnea and wears a breathing device at night, that has really minimized his dreaming. When his sugar is high, he is more likely to act out in his sleep. He isn’t cured but it seems better. We have a large king bed so he can’t easily reach me. He definitely has PTSD and you may have a form of this also. I hope talking about it helps in-some way. I’m sure your art helps. I do love all the bear ephemera! When my daughter was 5 my grandmother passed away. I went to GA for the funeral and my daughter stayed home. When I got back home she showed me her artwork from kindergarten. She had drawn and colored my grandmothers bed,which she had never seen, and had drawn a figure in the bed with a black crayon. She told me this was my grandmother…… unexplainable how she knew what my grandmothers bed looked like. It had tall spindles…nothing like it at our house. So I believe your little 3 year old did somehow understand what you were going thru. I can’t explain it!

Kim, wow!!!!! What a story! I’m so sorry he has to deal with that. It’s terrifying to wake up from a realistic, horrifying dream. I’m glad things are better for him. Thank you so much for sharing that. And that is an incredible story about your daughter drawing her grandmother. We’re always so busy in this life - I wonder how many emotions and feelings and spiritual things we don’t perceive because we’re so consumed with life. By the way, I loved seeing your recent bear pictures! I’m an awe but my dream… ❤️

Im wondering if one of the spirits ( i wont get into what i believe or dont believe spirits/ghosts are) were messing with you while you slept. You were under a great deal of stress in all areas of your life. Even though you have come out the other side a winner and have moved there is possibly a connection still that needs to be cut off. Could be totally wrong and im leaving a lot out. Love your work and hope you will be slowing down so we can get more videos! God Bless you and your family!
