Playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance 17 Years Later

@@MajjWrld Yep, and being played by Robert Downy Jr... Don't get me wrong, he's a great actor, being able to perform as Tony Stark for almost two decades is no small feat. But that's part of the problem, people know him in marvel as playing Iron Man. Probably going to confuse a lot of people when they see him as Doom, and need to be explained that no, it's not Tony being Doctor Doom, it's not Victor Von Doom in Tony's body, it's just that the same movie actor who played Tony, just so happens to also be playing Doctor Doom. I hope it works out well, and I hear apparently the Russo Brothers are the ones in charge as part of a contract stipulation for RDJ to come back and play the role. Which hopefully means it is actually good. But I can't help but fear it's not going to do as well as it should. Considering the last attempts to bring Doom to the silver screen were, well... You know... It might end up actually being decent, at least compared to all the other examples we've seen. But will it be enough to give the fear of Doom like this game's story did? Hard to say. I know when I played it as a kid, I felt Doom to be a serious threat with how powerful he became through the story. Still, not sure if RDJ as Doom will help, or hinder the character's fame and notoriety. I'm assuming he'll be the main antagonist in the upcoming Fantastic Four film, and while I wish Marvel's First Family would get a decent film outing, the casting that we have heard about for them, well, I don't really know the actor's, I'm not really all that aware of how good or bad most actor's/actresses are. But the fact that nothing springs to mine with the four meant to play Reed, Susan, Johnny, and Ben in this version of them, does not leave me with high hopes. I would be happy to be proven wrong. But I'm too skeptical from recent MCU related things to feel confident in being proven wrong. Hope this leads into secret wars later on down the line, so we can just wipe out this mess of a cinematic universe and get things a bit more organized, hopefully with Spidey being one of the early heroes in the new Marvel universe, Holland seems to do okay in what little I've seen and heard of his films, but the whole him basically being a junior avenger, in particular being a sort of almost Iron Man Jr in Homecoming in particular and Far From Home to another extent, it just feels wrong. His main thing is that, yeah, he starts out as a teenager, but he's no one's sidekick! Lee, Kirby, and the other's made him a teenaged superhero who was on his own to prove that you didn't NEED to be another hero's sidekick as a teenaged hero, and he managed to grow up, even fall in love, and even get married! Yeah, he lost his first love tragically, but he managed to keep going in spite of that! He was even going to become a father! Until Marvel got a bit scared at the idea and have the kid be stillborn, but there's an alternate universe where that kid lived and grew up to be an amazing young lady called Spider-Girl. But yeah, hopefully they do right by Doom in the new movies, but I'll believe it when I see it with my own eyes.

Bummer you thought the combat was iffy. I think its probably the strongest point for the game. The light + heavy combo variations. The grab throw, punch, or strong special. Multiple powers to swap out. So much better than recent titles.

MUA 1 was made by the same team at Raven that did X-Men Legends 1 & 2. They would move on to do the Wolverine: Origins game after this and eventually to Call Of Duty. A different studio would make MUA 2. The engine is from Vicarious Vision, and they would responsible for the Wii port of the game. In theory, there could have been a ganecube port, by it wasn't made beacuse it was afraid that it would eat into Wii sales. The art director in MUA1 was Dan Hays. He would become executive director of The Far Cry Serries from #3 onwards.

In my opinion, if this game was just a bit faster, it would be a *lot* better. I love this game, but it's just a bit too slow for me. Still, this game is pretty alright if you can get past the slow movement and animations. It was insanely ambitious, having such a huge crossover game like this.

@@JCubby-KZbin Yeah a quick google search or youtube search will do. You wont get trophies if you do the cheat code but its still fun to see all the characters. I liked Spiderman, Daredevil, Ghost Rider, and Deadpool. Spiderman and Daredevil have skills that can slow down enemies that I found cool. Its also good to have a regenerative healer like Wolverine or Daredevil on your team.

What started with X-Men Legends and XML 2 hit its apex with Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Absolutely LOVED this, so yeah. Best superhero video game to this point. Sadly, MUA 2 was the last reasonably good superhero game we would see on console. (MUA 3 for the Switch was the last good one.)

I don’t know how it would be possible to download downloadable characters now but I wish someone would do so, to see how things play out. At the end, it recaps your journey to see how you did. Some good, some unfortunate. Example, if you don’t provide Namor the medicine, the Atlantians hate you. I always wanted to download Cyclops and bring him to Jean Grey to see if that would result in a better ending at the end. Also does anyone know what was the deal with Black Widow in this? They painted her as suspicious but nothing really happened with that.
