Love to see the river fold with the AQ, even though i also love when you say "I didnt come all the way to ___, to fold trip Aces/folding is boring". Tough fold but led to a great sesh. Good shit.
@Tjnumber14 жыл бұрын
Yeah I think it was a great fold to kinda looked like pocket dueces or sixes Either that or he had a combo draw and missed and turned it into a really good bluff
@connman8d6174 жыл бұрын
Yeah...pretty great fold there. The jack on the river is key because with all combos of AJ getting there AQ becomes an easier fold. Also, hell of a read that CO was on a flush draw. When the BB check/raises 2 players on the flop with an Ace high board he's got 2-pair or better nearly 100% of the time and his turn barrel into 2 players is crazy strong. When Neeme calls again out of position it should be very clear that bluffing the river is suicide which means his river jam can be respected rather easily. Still though, theorizing is easy. Actually laying down trips 2nd kicker is very hard in practice.
@Tjnumber14 жыл бұрын
After re watching it. I think he def had 22 or 66. Multiway pot with a wet board i would def check raise with either of those hands
@connman8d6174 жыл бұрын
@@Tjnumber1 honestly, I'm not even all that sure that 22 should be jamming river for value. That hand loses to AJ/66/A6s and there may even be a combo of A2s out there too. Meanwhile, the only hands that can possibly pay off a jam are AK/AQ and, as seen, that's not even a sure thing. Seems super thin; I think A2 and 66 play better as jams and 22 is a great check/call candidate.

Don't know if A2o or A6o defends the BB going 4 ways. In that case having AQdd or AQss would be slightly better for bluff catching because you block an extra A6s combo since the 6 is a club.

It's a pretty clear fold with AQ imo. He is representing a boat here and you bet/called flop and called turn. You have either a strong flushdraw which missed or Ax. If he was bluffing to get you off K-high or a flushdraw that backed into a jack he'd maybe go smaller. It feels like he knows you have Ax and wants maximum value from your trips.

In the AQ hand where you had trips and folded to the river shove I am curious about one thing. Although we'll never know what he had, in all of your analyses on that hand to his UTG raise never once did the thought of him having AK ever seem to come into it and I was curious as to why. AK after all is a logical UTG raise and the way he strongly attacked that flopped ace and continued to do so turn and river. As I was watching I'm yelling at the screen "Andrew he's got AK, he's got AK!!" lol. Interested to know why that hand was not part of your thought process.

AQ a clear fold in live poker here - 1. completing the action OTF multiway, hes v likely to just call (unless combo like 34hh/35hh so very few combos) 2. when he raises and gets 2 callers, v unlikely to barrel when Ace pairs OTT 3. as you said the other player most likely has a FD here given action. in the end he basically end up w around 10 combos of value, and arguably most players wont have any bluffs here. 78ss you should bet bigger on turn and on the river. 1. he's capped, 2. board is very dynamic, and the double flush board/ straight draws means your going to have many bluffs, so you need to size up accordingly to allow yourself to have more bluffs in your range. I think at least a PSB is in order on the turn. 3. on river, again need large sizing.. if your going to have many bluffs you just need to size up here... your Ax hands also need to go this size for balancing purposes.

That's a very disciplined fold with AQcc on the river, exemplifying thinking on multiple levels. Supposedly, the other guy said in another comment that he had A10dd. On the turn, when you hit trips and are facing a $500 bet from the BB, a level 1 player like me would have been like ''Goodie goodie gumdrops! Well, I've got trips! Lemme just shove it all in!' and not thought about anything else. If the guy really does have A10dd, then you're putting him into a tougher decision versus the decision you faced on the river. In rare instances, being a simple minded player has its benefits.

Great video. On the first hand, I think it may be more profitable to 3-bet the UTG player. Because it's 6 handed of course... Now on the flop when you,'re raised, and the guy keeps betting solidly OOP on the turn, if he's a top reg as you mentionned it, will he bet a flush draw, knowing that strong aces, or even full houses are in your range? So definitively it's a good fold river, but I would have 3 bet pre flop. Only my personal opinion

@zackyang1234 жыл бұрын
The real issue with the initial AQ hand is that Andrew very rarely 3bets with his small pocket pairs so he's at nutted range disadvantage to all jams vs these 5/10 regs who understand this. I would lower my AQ 3bet frequency because AK is calling that 3bet a lot, and move in pocket 5s with a higher 3bet frequency. You'll have better board coverage to boot, and you'll be able to avoid leveling yourself into a call if you think they understand this. This is a psychologically easier fold I think.
