I've been through my Classical piano learning years and teaching for the longest time, and I am still quite new in the production world and you are such an inspiration to me, Dom! I love your playing and the sounds you picked on the piano! I don't like many piano sounds out there, and I have no idea in how to get a more cinematic piano sound! I love your piano sounds! Especially your own Cinematic piano sound with those lovely pedal sounds! SOOO realistic!

Incredible as usual. Thank you . I’m about to set up a small studio. I just bought the latest cubase pro and my question is, what kind of computer set up would be best. I really like Iconica Opus so keeping that in mind since that’s such a large file, what would you recommend? I also bought a Steinburg interface. What do you recommend for a microphone and how do you set it all up. I really like cubase and it’s softwares as well. However any advise on different softwares would also be nice. You have a very nice set up and I guess that’s the direction I want to go with. What are you’re tips for this. Thank you

This might be a dumb question, but I have always wondered what, exactly, inside the physical piano is "broken" and causing the very distinctive tonal difference clearly evident in virtual instruments like the featured "broken" Granny piano? Thanks for the videos, Dom, your passion and knowledge are both wonderful.
@DomSigalas4 жыл бұрын
Aaaah many things can be broken! The hammers, the felt might be completely off or even the actual strings might be broken. For each note of a piano you have 3 strings - if one of them is in bad shape or out of tune you get some really interesting sounds ;)

Hey Dom, I love your videos and your playing - You're my first stop for all things Montage. I know you wont be able to tell me anything specifically, but would you hold off on the Montage for now or is it safe to buy? Also, when Yamaha replace a product, do they continue to support the older hardware with updates and patches etc?

How are you able to improvise in such a classical fashion?
@DomSigalas4 жыл бұрын
Hey Sadhana! I've been listening to classical music from a very young age! But it needs practice, good knowledge of the scales and keys and the style. I think once you get to the point that you "hear" what you're about to play without having played it yet is where you win the game. It's like speech. With speech we think what we're going to say in a split second and then just say it. If you master the same thing with music you're there :)
