Probably been mentioned, but the “Busch series” drivers you mentioned were actually one-offs or part time drivers. Norm attempted Daytona with the 84, Todd Bodine drove the 46 in the season finale for 2000 (actually qualified fifth that day) , Kenny Irwin drove the 42 before his passing, Robby Gordon was part time from funding, Casey Atwood made the Evernham debut in the 19, etc. Credit to Brock Beard’s: “500 Days” series, “Three before February”, “Darrell Waltrip’s 2000 Victory Tour” for all this 2000 knowledge on the cars lol. You probably won’t see this and it’ll get buried but hope y’all have an amazing day and you potentially learned something from this. Watch Brock Beard’s videos if you have time and love NASCAR, he’s the undisputed best NASCAR creator for long-form videos imo.

Unfortunately, the only thing anyone remembers from the 2001 Daytona 500 is Dale's devastating demise. I didn't know Waltrip won it til i watched the 2001 Pepsi 400 (Daytona) on KZbin a couple years ago, "Thanks to Michigan and Daytona getting the same event name for some reason", and they mentioned it late in the race.

I remember all kinds of stuff from that race. Tony Stewart blew over and flipped. Dale Earnhardt gave Kurt Busch the middle finger. Michael Waltrip and Dale Jr finished 2nd.

The 2001 Dayton 500 was the first race I remember watching. Me and my whole family re-watched it last week instead of the Super Bowl, and it was such an exciting race. Nonstop racing and passing, and with only a couple cautions. It is unfortunate how it ended, of course, but racing-wise I have to say it is my favorite Daytona 500.

If Dale hadn't died, we'd be talking about the 2001 Daytona 500 as the greatest 500 ever. It had everything. It was the first NASCAR broadcast on Fox, it was the first Daytona 500 after DW's retirement, it marked the return of Dodge to NASCAR, there was thrilling racing throughout, Michael Waltrip finally winning his first race with his legendary brother calling it in the booth, DEI finishing 1, 2 and 3, and an epic Big One on the backstretch. It should have been the high water mark for the entire history of stock car racing. And then Lap 200 happened and ruined everything.

When I was younger, I remember pitching this idea for a game on the EA Sports message boards, for a NASCAR game with a career mode that could go back in time and recreate the driver rosters of the time, just with the player's car added in. This is probably the closest thing to that idea I've seen. If there's 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, etc. mods that would be it lol

You should restart your career, also the cars are appearing in the wrong slots, i would check the doublecheck that the .db file from the mod has been imported over. I've been playing this mod a lot, and Im happy to see you playing it too!

Yeah, races don't end under caution for races under 25%. Maybe they do for 10% races, but I don't remember.
