ITS NOT DONE! uypdate video coming next week Im finally getting onto finishing the gameboy megamachine for the next season at THIS MUSEUM IS NOT OBSOLETE so people can play it in its finished entirety. This vid was from a Patreon livestream the other night of me testing it, ahead of the next video on the gameboy Mega Machine here it is in action! if you want to see what is changing under the hood and download the 24 bit WAV version of this the link is in the description. i have made the filters stereo, and added a big modulation station to the setup which is mainly what im testing in this video, as it progresses you will see how the stereo filter really helps it sound extra funky, so best listening is in either headphones or speakers!

Oh wow. I've not heard mention of Tangerine Dream in years. I have an OG poster of theirs advertising their DREAMTOUR U.S.A. for a performance in Portland. I mention that because my 8 yo pointed to it just his morning and was like "Hey Dad, what's that orange poster?" and I was able to discuss with him about the "old days" of synthwave. He's a bit to young to understand the difference between analogue and digital synth sounds but had I not needed to get back to work, we would have had a listening session. Anyway, I know it's a random tangent, but considering I just brought up Tangerine Dream to my kids, it was worth mentioning the providential moment.

I so wish my old friend Andrew was around to hear this, he was a hardcore synth fan, building kit synths since the early 80s, building his own audio effects designs and, eventually, setting up his own recording studio; he would have loved this. Sensitive topic, to say the least. The whole "what is art?" discussion.. Many would like to be all-including, so its an open goal. Chuck mud at a wall "I made an art!" Sadly, in many contexts a definition is needed, and I wont say I have one that fits all. For my own sake I tend to look at the process, more than the end result really. The creative process, involving investigate and experimental phases, evolving the expression and product, for me that is essential, and what defines art. This is much due to so many times seeing aspiring creatives discovering a technique or material that gives a impacting effect, and just merely poking at it a bit then presenting it as their art, without finding a single significant thought, provocation or expression in the process. So, Sam painstakingly crafting a one of a kind behemoth, sourcing parts and working out the kinks over a long time period sure falls with my definition of art.
