Multi-kilowatt lasers have been used in industry for decades for cutting and welding, but never before have they been used to make music - until now! Each laser beam represents an instrument, and its characteristic sound is created by adjusting the laser parameters used to ablate the steel plate.
The sheet music for each instrument is then translated into the laser control software by a customized program.
