The best part about rdr1 online was being able to play as anyone from a simple NPC rancher to red harlow.

That was one of my favourite features of this multiplayer. Levelling up and unlocking new characters from the different factions in the world such as Miners, Rebeldes, Dutch's Gang and Cattle Rustlers. Then once you prestige you unlock a Legendary character and mount. I did dive into the customization when I was playing Red Dead Redemption multiplayer, but it didn't make the final cut of the video. Crazy thing about the multiplayer is that your multiplayer progress was saved to your xbox's disk, sooo you could easily get a maxed out account with a simple USB flash drive mod. Did it when I was 7 years old so its kind of an embarrassing oversight on rockstar's part. Maybe they didn't think the multiplayer was important enough to have user's progress saved to a database instead? Had sooo much fun regardless lol

There is a ton of people playing. Just played now, you can't find a lobby due to it being so full. I eventually found one but we were 14 players. It seems people play 3 modes: Gang Shootout, Cooperative missions (just played The Escape and Gold mine raid with 5 people) and Capture bag mode. You will find a few players like 3 or 4 that will play Undead or Grand Prix.

I still remember exactly how to do that there was a certain tree on that hill in bounce you would jump into and fall through and it would teleport you above which is out of bounds then you go out to a spot where you fall out of bounds again and you would go back into the normal map but you’re invisible to other people and when you kill people it shows you way out in the mountain😂😂😂😂 bloody hell I remember that and it’s been years

Damn it’s crazy that people still play this game. I played this from its time of release til red dead 2 come out. I played the online way more than I should’ve. I hit 5th legend 3 times on it. Learned countless out of the map glitches and exploits over the years. Even knew the explosive rifle spawning glitch, glitch really turned the game upside down honestly. There are people out there who will know what I’m talking about. Last time I got on it though I could barely find a session that didn’t have a modder lurking around. Big part of why I left the game behind. I played it on the 360 to clarify and continued to play it once it was made backwards compatible

It's especially disappointing that Rockstar Games are charging $50 for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch port and it doesn't include the online mode. I expected better from Rockstar Games.

Shoot roll shoot roll was a main tactic because when you roll the auto aim on somebody shooting you does not work so you have to time that stuff correctly to get your shots in, I remember because it was competitive as hell🤣

i remember playing this back in the day, i never liked the autoaim so i joined normal noob servers with autoaim on and got demolished. Then i realized there were "hardcore" servers with autoaim off for everybody and i had a blast

Just the last few days I've had a phase for rdr1 online and I've actually found players on free roam (obviously most popular) undead overrun, pvp and even coop missions (xbox version) I've maxed out prestige 5 lvl 50 so I don't earn xp anymore but I'm just playing for fun nowadays 5:12 Dutch saying "who do you think you are?" while the guy playing as Pig Josh yeeted dynamite at you had me in stitches lol

The original Red Dead Redemption online mode is still one of my favourites of all time. It had everything you could possibly want from a multiplayer and it was not dominated by microtransactions that disrupted your experience. I've always wanted to max out the level cap in the multiplayer and I remember I used to spend hours playing Pike's Basin to grind for XP. The highest level that I got to was 1st Prestige Level 50 and I didn't want to reset my weapons and mounts again by levelling up to the next prestige. What did you do to get max level? @BaileyPoints Oh I just used to play a lot back in 2014/2015 and kinda stopped playing and I stopped around prestige 4 so after playing the last few days I've just done a lot of gang shootouts and pvp matches

Last year I loaded on a PS3 match and it had about 10+ players in nearly every lobby I was in. I was so surprised at one it was that active and two there was such thing as RDR1 Online I never knew it was existed until I started exploring the menu.

The mini games were the best. Hours of hold your own, grab the bag, gold rush, etc. Not to mention the stand offs to start them. No more rolls or run and slide. The ability to fight in the lobby while waiting for it to fill. It was a great sandbox.👍🏾👍🏾💯

It was such a special moment in a free mode session when you would have a full lobby of 16 players and 2 posses going to war against each other. You'd usually always have one posse holding out in Dutch's Camp in Tall Trees or the Fort in Mexico which has the cannons and the other posse would try its best to attack them and take the location for their own. I think I will pick up a PS3 copy of this game and try out the multiplayer. Thank you very much for watching!

I got banned from rdr1 back in the day after going sicko mode on the double xp weekend and getting to max rank :( Does anyone remember how the server would always get everyone to group up for wars at that castle on the mexico side of the map? good times

Not gonna lie, I was expecting all deathmatches to start off with a duel in RDR2. They really missed out on the opportunity to place factions against each other this way. You could feel the tension every time the round started

From what I've seen, the PS3 version has more active Online than the Xbox 360 version, I find this funny and incredible since the PS3 version can only be played on the PS3 and PS Plus Premium streaming while the Xbox 360 version can be played on the Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X but even so there are a lot fewer people playing it.

I believe Rockstar are not supporting the servers for the original Red Dead Redemption and the same goes for Grand Theft Auto IV. Xbox oversees and support the servers for both of these multiplayer modes.

If you want to rank up quickly in Red Dead Redemption 1 multiplayer then set up a private session and just grind Pike's Basin. It's what everyone used to do back in the day to get to a higher rank!

On the western side of the map there was a shack and for some reason 10s of cougars would spawn in this area. So we would fist fight on top knocking each other off to be eaten by cougars. Using the and floating on top of it down the river from Great Plains to black water. The invincibility glitch in Mexico. The flying glitch. The glitch to get to fly to the character customization area and other players could see you while choosing their character in the menu. So many man…

I was able to play with some people in this multiplayer in 2023 and I can say that it is the best along with its game modes, and apart from getting some trophies, we had a good time in the game modes, playing Poker, etc. I will never forget those moments :)

I was late to rdr was a whole because I never had an xbox but I got one the start of 2023, took me ages to beat rdr2 then I moved onto rdr, I never knew it had online so I went into it and the first thing that happened was someone blew me up with dynamite

I use to grind this game back in 2011-2012. I would create different accounts and do pikes basin all day long until legend 5. I would also have clan wars,I was unbeatable in my opinion. The peak of this game was 2012. So many people were hacking servers so you could not even join a session without it freezing on you. Bighulk16

Yer so, I don't recognize who the modder was, but by the stagecoach he spawned in at the 7:12 mark I know he's usin' demonic revelations because I told the creator of that menu to use exactly those horses for that coach. Just want to apologize for that, pretty much everyone using a mod menu in rdr1 right now is using a mod menu that I helped test the living fuck out of. I was really good friends with the creator of it, and we initially released it as a fun thing with protections and safety from other modders. Turned into somethin' else entirely.

I think it all really depends on what time of day you decide to play the online. So probably best if you try different times of the day and see what works best for you.
