oh wow, so cool, i just got my jamstik yesterday, it's charging right now. can't wait to use it in a few min

Man you guys should try midi guitar 2/3 plugin. It's so much easier than getting a whole new guitar. The tracking on the beta version is so good. Can run on a tablet too

Awesome !! ... Tracking looks Accurate ?

Yep, in our experience the tracking is excellent! Also-it works by analyzing the audio generated by the strings, so it can handle alternate tunings/etc just fine...a huge plus for us :)

Yo! I’m the guitarist in the video. Tracking was exceptional! I noticed (and talk about in the video) how with real synths there is no latency at all, vs. my computers VST synths with that ever so slight amount of latency and how different it feels to have that latency gone!

After Meris launches its new synth pedal, we can talk about this midi guitar.
@dingbatjack12344 ай бұрын
Then you wouldn’t need the guitar. It’s just a controller dude

You seem to fundamentally misunderstand what each item is and does.

I would definitely be interested to see how a deeper Meris (or any maker) synth pedal could manifest-what parameters would be accessible to the user? Could we re-map things like the detected pitch, loudness, note density, etc. to different parameters? It occurs to me that that is one of the strenghts of something like the Jamstik-the MIDI data that comes out of it is just DATA, and doesn't really carry any specific implications about its mapping. With a sufficiently deep synth-one which enables arbitrary mapping of incoming MIDI data to different parameters-the guitar-as-MIDI-controller approach might prove more flexible than some specific implementations of an all-in-one, guitar-sound-to-synth-sound converter. But, this is all speculative! If Meris does make another synth pedal, we'll be very excited to see what it can do.

@@PerfectCircuit I agree with all you mention. But the future Enzo's big brother, would be an easier device to operate with.

Wish they would make a seven string version of the jamstik
@PerfectCircuit4 ай бұрын
That would be sick! I will say, though it's not an exact substitute for an extended range guitar, it DOES support alternate tunings as low as C standard. And of course, if you're using it with external synths, you can always transpose down an octave or two for prime chugging 😈

Looks a regular guitar with an roland gk3 assembled 🤔

It's a similar concept, but yes-all set up and with support for MPE MIDI. That's a big plus for us synth nerds :)

That opening track sounds so familiar.

The guitar 🎸 is a has been. All that can be done with it, has already been done. This Jam Stick is a abomination. Be a real musician, and buy 4-12 hardware units from Perfect Circuit, but stay away this modern day "Hula Hoop" they are calling a "Jam Stick" 🤮

It's not for everyone - but ultimately, I do think that giving musicians access to interfaces which are familiar and comfortable to them - and which can be used to interact with the sound production method of their choice, independent of the physical realities of the playing interface - might be a good way of uncovering some interesting/under-explored musical territory. What if the strengths of the guitar's user interface and the technical adeptness of a guitarist could be leveraged to control other aspects of sound? Might be interesting. 🤔 But, these are just my early morning coffee time thoughts ☕ Hope you're having a good one, @RichKielbasa
