I used to play tons of LEGO games but eventually I hit a point where I felt super burnt out & just sorta stopped. Yeah, I was more into the 2010’s games where the characters started to talk & they slowly brought in some new mechanics to each new one, but it wasn’t enough to keep me from getting tired eventually. It certainly was a problem with those games, but I know that many kids really enjoyed them :)
@theidiotchildren5 ай бұрын
The fun in those games come more from finding collectibles and unlocking characters, as the intended audience is young children so the challenge level is always kept to a minimum. They're good, but formulaic and repetitive.

I play a lot of light gun games on the Wii, it's one of the reasons I keep it around. I've also used a lot of gun peripherals for it, and the Zapper that comes with Link's Crossbow Training is by far the best. it has the fastest trigger action, the lightest frame, the best stability using the back end to plant, and it works just as well with a nunchuck docked or free hand, as some games require. No third party I bought ever even came close, despite modifying the spring strength and other things myself after buying them. The biggest problem I have with the Wii gun games is that you can't actually aim down the sight, it aims more in the arc of a grenade launcher, you're always pointing way off from where the shots would actually go from a real gun, and I grew up on the NES Zapper which used plastic iron sights that actually functioned like a real gun for aiming. Other than that though, it captures a lot of the fun of arcade shooters with those big plastic guns, and it's much more compact and functional than the Super Scope. The Wii Zapper is the final evolution of the light gun in modern console terms, and it deserves your respect.

TBH fuck ASSassin's creed 3, all the games are about getting into a machine to relive ancestor's lives, that's par for the course. BUT you are 100% correct that AC3 absolutely takes a million years to get to the point. In fact the game's beginning has roughly this sequence: - current day main character prologue with VR tutorial - old guy in the past prologue and more tutorials - you gain control of your actual main character (guy in the cover art) but there's STILL a lot of tutorials and introductory story to get through - now you actually get to play the game freely with open world and stuff. This process is a nightmare, I played every AC game when I was little, from the first one up to this one. And even as a 15 year old I noticed just how slow this game was, the "old guy in the past" prologue part can take you as long to complete as an entire playthrough of the first game, I wish I was kidding. The game didn't need half of those tutorials and it also didn't need to have 3 prologues back to back. To quote AVGN: WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?
