A big thing with mario feeling "slow" is because for the switch version, they sped the characters up actually :) hope you enjoy your wii u though!

You should try Yoshi's Wooly World, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Rayman Legends, Windwaker HD, Twilight Princess HD, Kirby and The Rainbow Curse, Pikmin 3, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed, Need For Speed U, Batman: Arkham Origins, Paper Mario: Color Splash (believe me, give it a good try), and New Super Mario + Luigi U.

@@wolfgangvonlichtenstein5222 Great!, answering the question, it's REALLY good, it has a lot of functions with the gamepad, and if you want to have a closer experience to the PS, you could also try it with the Wii U Pro controller, but I prefer the gamepad in this case, hope that helps!

@@danal0gueyou need to try out the virtual wii. Especially if you homebrew the Wii U you can get the homebrew channel on that and pretty much do anything with it as well. Even if you don’t go down that route it’s still a wii in a wii u but know that the wii shop channel isn’t around anymore but it is still there

The Wii U is an incredible console and is one of my favorite consoles of all time. Such a shame that the marketing sucked cause there would have more awesome games if had more sales. I, like most people didn’t even hear about until 2 years after it’s launch and even then I thought it was a handheld console at first. The game pad is so much fun to use. Luigi’s mansion for Nintendo land allows the player who controls the ghost to be invisible and sneak around using the map on the game pad while other players use the same map on the television to try to find the ghosts. It’s hard to describe but this style of play is the most fun multiplayer experience I have ever had! It’s a freakin blast! And I love the way the game pad fits in my hand, it’s so smooth. I love the Wii U! It’s lack of love deeply saddens me because it had so much potential. Like playing adventure games, you can use the game pad for your map!

I got my black Wii U around release and then got the Zelda special edition a couple years later. I was one the only people that preordered Zelda breath of the wild at my Best Buy. Paper Mario color splash and Zelda windwaker are a couple of my favorite games on it.

I just picked one up on eBay, in 2014 we lost our Wii in a flood and I’ve been feeling nostalgic for some of the Wii games like Mario Galaxy 2. We have a GameCube still so I took the Wii U to deal with the no component cables on the tv.

I preferred the placement of the analog sticks on the gamepad and the pro controller vs the PS3 and Xbox. 32GB of internal memory was just mind boggling and not in a good way.

I didn't really appreciate the Wii u either, despite being really into the Wii as a system when it came out ( for after pub games with friends) or as a system to game on with my son. It wasn't until we acquired a Wii u from his uncle that I found out about jailbreaking etc. That really puts the Wii u in another league. I upgraded the gamepad battery, and can play without using a TV. Honestly, it is a bit heavy after a while. My son has his Switch, but I don't need to play on it as the Wii u does everything I need.

i have some great wii u games to recommend. some of these games aren't for everyone, but hey, cant knock it until you try it, eh? 1: Splatoon (very underrated shooter game, deserves more recognition.) 2: Nintendo Land (oh my god, this game is so underrated. you need to try it.) 3: Mario Kart 8 (this game is so good, probably one of the best mario kart games of all time) 4: Mario 3D World (i love this game, it's just so good. the only gripe i have about it is that the game is short) 5: Super Mario Maker (i love this game, its gonna become useless when the online servers shut down in march, but if you mod your console you can restore online functionality with pretendo) 6: Super Smash Bros. for Wii U (this game is pretty much ultimate, but i find it cool that you can pair a 3DS and use it as a controller) 7: DKC: Tropical Freeze (again, i know this game got a port on the switch, but its still good) 8: New Super Mario Bros. U (this game gets kinda boring after 30 minutes, but i like the level design and the soundtrack) 9: Mario Party 10 (this game is meh, not really that fun) 10: TLOZ: Breath of the WIld (putting this game at 10 because i havent played it yet, plus im not really a fan of the zelda series)

Wii U is one of my favorite consoles. I still buy games for it and play it. I dont really like switch which my kids play. Wii u had a such a great potential and some good games on it that its a shame it was replaced so early.

(0:12) In my case, I skipped on the Wii U and the 3DS because of a combination of the systems being region-locked, Singapore receiving U region (North American) consoles and games when (IMO) it should've received E region (European) consoles and games, Nintendo of Europe doing separate UK English localisations of a number of first-party games for those E region consoles, and my teenage self not being able to afford to import E region Nintendo stuff. These days, with the online stuff being basically gone at this point, I could probably get a locally purchased U region console and mod it, then change the region from U to E. Edit: From time to time, I had considered getting Wii U and 3DS consoles to play E region Wii, Wii U, DS, DSi, and 3DS games, but at the same time, considering my budget, I'm prioritising getting Switch games instead as most of the games I would want to play are available there, I have a backlog of games I haven't played (as I've mostly been reading books and playing Splatoon 2 and 3), and I have a few Switch and PC games on pre-order. However, for games that did get sequels on the Switch, I had wondered about playing the games in the series that were on the Wii U, and for games that were ported over, I may like to have fun with the GamePad functionality that had to be removed or scaled down in the Switch ports. Awesome video bro just watching today! Recently been following the Wii U to the point where I actually SOLD my Switch OLED in order to buy a Wii U in 2023! It was the only console I never owned. Same with my recently acquired New 2DS XL, 3DS and 3DS XL. Basically in my opinion they do way more than the Switch currently does aka themes to name a few. More importantly I smile more as a 42 year old man playing these older consoles than the next gen stuff and that's pretty sad to admit. My Nintendo Wii U Deluxe Black Edition plus Pro Controller and Cable with the 9 best games collection cost in total £191.39 all in for EVERYTHING!!! Sooooooooo cheap!! BARGAIN!! Only LEGIT console i've never owned before!!! Nintendo Wii U Deluxe Black Edition RRP when first released JUST for the console was £278.06!!! 😱😳 Even setting the Wii U up was more exciting than the Switch or any other Nintendo console and certainly my Series X and PS5!! The Wii U slating which CLEARLY turned out to be UTTER NONSENSE in my opinion having now got one myself. It's like the Rocky movies and more so an example of the current world problem of "The Matrix" as Andrew Tate would say and we are all TOLD WHAT TO LIKE AND NOT LIKE and also WHAT WE SHOULD FOLLOW just like sheep. I have been playing BOTW for the last month on my Wii U, just took out the 1st boss, and i am nowhere even close to completing it, great system, and after BOTW i have M3D, cap Toad, MK8, DKTF, Brous U and pikmen 3........oh and just so you kbow, to okay all thise games on the switch would cost me $500, but only cost me $120 on the Wii u. :-) Oh and i forgot to say all my wii controllers and pro wii controllers work on the U as do all my Wii games, and you can play almost all U games with Wii controller and turn the gamepad off.........while none work on the switch.

I want one just for wiiu and wii games only, to start collecting too some wii games are very good but my problem with them is they are not HD, I know that there is some apps on the homebrew that can fix a little like for example removing the deflickers.

In Nintendo Land, if possible, you should try to get someone to play with you since the best games are the multiplayer ones, especially the ones which require more than one player

I just revived my Wii U because its kinda old and I got it out, modded it, and it’s GREAT. The screen is really dirty though

@@danal0gue sorry for the late response. I’ve done the one thing I swore I would never do. Anyway, the mod’s basically allow you to get most games for free, use Bluetooth to connect a controller to the Wii u, and have custom themes.

Do not worry about getting another Gamepad. None of the games support multiple gamepads. There were plans but no one ever did it. I was a late adopter of the WiiU as well. I think it is a good system with bad marketing. Games I would suggest: Affordable Space Adventure (Digital only) Axiom Verge NES Remix Pack Star Fox Guard (I guess you can get Star Fox Zero wile you are at it) Super Mario Maker Tank! Tank! Tank! i enjoy my cousin wii u also one thing ya may bash on the wii u hear me out on switch right your paying 50$ a year too play old vurtial console games like nes snes game cube wii Gameboy and advance and ds games on the switch right well on the wii u you can do that for free or just buy the game you wanted . my cousin modded his added allot of game cube games on it and they play well if not upscaled better the wii u is better than the switch in many ways i think . in my opinion my cousin wii u replace his gamecube pretty much use the classic controller i use the wii u classic ontroller or a brook super converter or a may flash i use my switch pro controller as well

People only love it now because it’s dirt cheap and moddable….. Honestly, after owning that hunk of junk and playing the switch, the difference is night and day. The switch is so much better, it hurts…….
