Cool machine. Couple of suggestions for cold weather. Get yourself a concrete blanket and wrap the engine case. And by a weed burner. You can on freeze the dirt on the tracks with it. Hold it away from the motor a couple feet and throw some heat on the engine before starting. If you have a problem with the tracks sticking the good to the ground. Lay down some old tires in park the machine all top of the tired. Hope this will help you.

You are right about the ether it can be addictive and when that happens it is too late to take it off it,what happens is with the increase in compression pushes the top ring down against the bottom of the groove which goes down and pinches the second ring, the second ring gets stuck and the compression is down it will now need the ether to get it going, your machine starts up perfect note where the ammeter registers on the clock when heating,if a glow plug should fail you will notice it by where the needle goes to when on heat, if it does not register as much one or more plugs has burned out, its going grand your machine.

Tim from Canada my suggestion would be to the guy that on the track loader when you have so much dirt in between your tracks two things to do one if you were close go to the car wash and wash your tracks or to invest in a portable power sprayer ... something that you can run off car batteries in a water tank so you can wash up the dirt from your tracks. Or three take an order on the highway or a paved surface and run it till the dirt comes off. There has to be some blacktop roads around your area take it out and run it see if the dirt comes off..

[I, took notice of a lot of diesel owners after running a diesel engine. before shutting the diesel engine down. I, always let the diesel engine run a little while to let the diesel engine cool down]

At long last, someone who knows how bad ether actually is for your engine……. As you say, once you start using it, you will always need to use it!

Be very careful with the spring tensioners they can shoot Off and kill you , in the shops they have special cages and compression devices to change the track tensioners , probably worth having someone do that for you

Thanks. When I get the assemblies off they are going to HO Penn in Conn. They have the cage and press there. I may try cutting the springs up with a torch if I can stay safe while doing it.

@brdman Yeah I'm alive. Haven't tackled those springs yet. Working on fabricating a compression cage out of an oxygen cylinder. Stay tuned.
