They advocated for game design and balancing choices that favored the more dedicated players and alienated casual players. And the devs were dumb enough to listen to them and implement said changes/rollback casual friendly changes and wipes. This led to a huge falloff of the casual playerbase and the near death of the game. The game is only now seeing a resurgence now that they A: have gone free to play, and B: have implemented a huge swath of casual friendly changes including gear based matchmaking, removal of pvpcentric features like the shrinking ring, removal or nerfing of certain damage boosting equipment stats that allowed for easy one shots, and reshaping of dungeon maps to make pvp harder to engage in by spacing out players. All of these things together have allowed the casual playerbase to swell again and made the old pvp centric focus of the game a memory. The game is now what it should have been from the start, a dungeon crawler with possible pvp, not a battle royale with almost guaranteed pvp.​@@petruradu7242
