Hey a a tipp, the Q and E button are usually the "strafe left, strafe right" buttons and you should assign these buttons to your A and D becaus the turning Animation is just slow and nobody really uses it.

I use it for fun movement reasons. Idk. It's sometimes fun to walk using the mouse1-cam while turning with those keys. Still rebinded them to strafe though, but I use the turning buttons very regularly.

Simpler to keep both options and just hold down right mouse button if you want to strafe, that will keep the ability to turn and also make A and D strafe. It is the default setting so no change needed for this solution.

I used to run arenas with a guy who completely removed the “backwards” keybind to prevent backpedaling😂😂

I hate how blizzard puts "New Players" on the server population, tricking new players into choosing those servers when in reality it's just empty servers.

*clicks on blood elf* "This looks like invoker from DotA." Man, that's because Dota came from a fan-made map on Warcraft 3; it was the first moba. Invoker's model (and name) came from Kael'thas.. a prominent character in warcraft lore.

just found this now, but I do want to inform that you're right about Invoker xD The invoker in DoTA (dota 1) is literally Kael'thas Sunstrider, which was the Blood Elf Prince of Quel'thalas. You can fight him in game during dungeons/raids in WoW (Dungeon:Magister's Terrace; Raids: The Eye/Castle Nathria). In Dota 2, he was just 'The Invoker', but the design remained similar.

You can change all of your appearance choices in the game for free now. Just drop into a barber shop. Hunter is a great choice for your first character for reasons you will discover down the road. Eventually, you will want to try others. The evokes are meant for more advanced players this round.

Ah that's great to know! I didn't realize that the game was so forgiving in changing your appearance, thats nice! Also super glad to read that Hunter is a good clas for a beginner like me, because I really like the class so far. I will defintely make more characters down the road!

It's nice to see someone first time playing through something other than Exile's Reach, but i'm surprised you even had the ability to do that. You should only have a choice to level in the race specific starting zones if you have already leveled a character. Same with creating a Dracthyr or Death Knight. Are you sharing this account with someone else who has already leveled?

As you could see in the beginning, there were already three characters on that account across two different realms, one of which is Low nowadays but used to be a new player's/high server back in MoP (I know because I played on it), the other still being a very highly populated horde focused realm: Twisting Nether. So what's for certain is that the account is not entirely new. Then there's trials or free weekend trials. There was a free weekend trial a short while ago where people could try out to play the Dracthyr Evoker, without requirement of a sub. Could be that the other characters were made with previous "free weekends"? I recall something like that being a thing in the past too, never really paid attention to those.

I really like to hear your thoughts :) To answer your first question Thontar; No, I do not share or have ever shared this account but I did try out WoW craft a really long time ago. Back then I made a hunter druid and I think got a couple levels but stopped playing because the game wouldnt properly run on my old system. This must have been like 10 years ago. And I do believe I never paid to play WoW back then, so it must haeve been a free trial, it does ring a bell. Long story short, Ive never really got into WoW and played it for a decent time. But re-discovering this game in 2023 has been a blast so far! I do have some mixed feelings about that fact it seems as if I'm not a new player altough I have 0 to none WoW knowledge haha, would you like to see more of this or should I perhaps restart the series on a brand new account? Let me know! :)

He was able to skip exiles reach because he made an evoker first not knowing it would start at level 58. And you can create one Dracthyr for free on one realm as new players might have bought the game just to play that class without having to level another character so that's why he could make one.

Death knight and evoker are hero classes, so they start later on the storyline. Damn haven't played wow in 8 years nostalgia

I just downloaded but I haven’t played yet. I kinda Wana jump straight into the lvl 58 and start with that content. Then I’ll make a level 1 in the future. I still learn the basics going through that instruction phase right? I heard the 1-60 grind sucks especially if you’re playing the game because you saw the dragonflight trailera

It's been defintely a steep learning curve starting from lvl 1, but now I'm almost at max lvl, currently lvl 69. Im so happy with my choice! I feel like i really start to understand the game nowand really love it, but you should defintely chose what you feel like doing the most! just have fun with it :D

1-60 grind is way faster than it used to be. You could go 1-60 in a weekend or two

Your account doesn't seem like new, to be honest. Firstly, new players don't get to create Evokers as you'll need a level 60 for that. Secondly, new players don't get to play the original starting zones as they'd need to compete Exiles Reach and the tutorial there first. Anyway, though! I really enjoyed this one, and I'm hoping to see more of this Goblin in the future!

Hey René! Thanks for taking the time to comment! :D I honestly do not know how I was able to create an evoker class. I do recall I have once made a very old WoW account in the passed but never was able to play. Now I have bought the new Dragonflight expansion and my account seemed to be boosted to lvl 60.. How to start fresh!? I would love to just start as a completely new player since thats what I am.

@Puff Puff If you want the "new player experience" you simply need to go for Exiles Reach with a fresh character and just follow the quest/story line. It will funnel you into the BfA story where you'll proceed to level and quest until you reach level 60. At this point you'll "graduate" to a veteran account which unlocks Evokers and the Chromie Time mode for future characters (something that already happened to your account).

Actually it's a known bug that sometimes new accounts are able to select dracthyr for some reason. You can see the icon goes grey after a few minutes looking around the creation screen. The exiles reach thing though definitely shows prior play time. New accounts aren't allowed to choose the racial starting zones without having had a max level on the account at some point after exiles reach was added.

@@tauriasstormshield499 This is not the case here, but new accounts can create a single dracthyr for free on one server without the requirement of having other lvl 60 character, I know because I created a new account for my brother in law cuz I gifter him dragonflight for chrismass and he was able to create a dractylr from the get-go but he did in the incorrect realm so he couldn't do one on my realm, so he deleted it and it let him create one on my realm, without any other character

If you liked running that way and strafing. Otherwise I'd play the one you want if you like a&d better use a&d. Games are about having fun and you have to do it the way you have fun. A lot of people key bind some still click. I paid for my game I pay my sub no one's going to tell me what the right way is. If you're in a dungeon or raid will have to do the way the fight supposed to be done but as far as movement what your character looks like do what's right for you

Played vanilla, but not impressed with dragonblight. Levelling is full of cinematics and feels like a different sub par game.
