Zach Hyman scored a hattrick while Connor McDavid scored 5 assists in game one for the Oilers as they cruised past the Kings to an easy 7-4 win. That and more in today's NHL hockey video!

A power play clicking at 75% is also insane, obviously not sustainable but it's still weird to see a conversion of 3 out of 4. The game was more lopsided than the score would suggest. Kings did get a disallowed goal but they also got 2-3 lucky bounces or Ceci breaking his stick at the worst time. I've had people tell me that McDavid disappears in the playoffs but I disagree. He's just always being covered by 2 bodies when he's in the offensive zone, he has to use his speed and get people out of position so he can saucer a pass over. I called this series as being over in 5 but I can't completely discount the Kings just yet; Skinner may have a bad game, lapses do happen and 3 goals can go in against you in 2 minutes, but if Oilers can keep the pressure on, they should finish this in good time.
@Pingieking12 күн бұрын
People who say that McDavid disappears during the playoffs are idiots. The man is 3rd all time in playoffs ppg, behind only Gretzky and Lemiux. Aside from Drai, the next best performer is MacKinnon and he's a solid 0.3 ppg behind McDavid.
@matteotassone222612 күн бұрын
craziest part about the powerplay is they are operating at a 50% dating back to their 2022 playoff run. over 31 playoff games and it’s at 50% surely you think they’d dip down but they are sustaining a 50% which is unheard of
@iansteelmatheson12 күн бұрын
imo people say he disappears are probably only remembering his first trip to the playoffs (2017), when he "only" had 9 points in 13 games, which is ok but not fantastic. since that year though? he's averaging 1.92 points/game in the playoffs. the next best in the same period is Drai at 1.70, then Mackinnon at 1.38. that is _fucking insane._
