Warhammer 40k in 40 minutes Champs Game 2! Necrons vs Space Marines. Is this the year of Steve?

The Necrons have awakened for the first time in a Championship series. It is the return of Watson, the Doomsday Ark that seeks redemption. Michael Buckthorp hopes to pilot his Necrons to victory but must overcome the force of nature that is the Year of Steve. Space Marine Steve returns for his third Championship series and of course it is with Space Marines. This year will it be the Astral Claws that win it all for him.

Note, this game was produced before the core update to Necrons that happened recently (November 2021).
To end the 2021 40k in 40m Season 3 series we are putting on a Warhammer 40k Championship. In this new format the winner is determined by the total victory points they score through all their games so every game counts!

Steve is a champ for staying chill in the face of all that. If someone were to animate this match though it would be incredible. Screaming marines tripping over themselves, an atv getting shot to dust as it heroically shows up, hellblasters melting themselves, a single arc immortal electrocuting 5 units simultaneously, a squad forgetting to take their transhuman phys. Pills ... this match is a ride..

@@Ankhtowe i mean, not really, in Starcraft 2 tournaments a bunch of matches are called and GG'd before the 11 minute mark if the other player has clearly won, and then they move on to the next match, no point in playing a game in which you already know the result, this game was decided by the 10 min mark, Steve's deployment/composition isn't really optmal but with those rolls there was legit nothing he could do, lost way too much stuff and took out basically nothing, that is a wrap.

Watching Steve did actually hurt me emotionally. Not getting the Dreadnought forward is one thing, but getting beaten like a quadriplegic dog with a stick is absolutely heartbreaking. I would have probably just packed my things and went home. He is great sport for soldiering on. What a trooper.
