This is great! I move alot when I do staff and it's what ppl "know me for" but I have never been able to explain it... I have never taken dance classes but I loved dancing before I knew of staffs so for me I loved to learn tech stuff but I was ALWAYS so annoyed of how the staff limited my movement!! After thousands of hard beatings to the head (by the staffs) and many angry faces I learned how to anticipate where the staff would hit me next and dodge it. Since I already knew where I would go I would be able to make it into a "dance move" and not just a "watch your head!" move. But this was very nicely explained! You can't try to start dancing until you are free to move however you want.

I've been using your class on UDemy for awhile and I'm still playing with my planes obsessively. Your advice to make the basics fun and learn to dance with them has opened me up so much and I am excited to see what doors I've opened. Thank you!

Thank you! I have discovered this early on and dancing has always played a huge role in my own poi practice. It makes things more meditative and fun, and increases my joy of poi. Always has, always will.

Funnily enough i was watching one of your videos earlier and actually thought to myself "how can I get more freedom to dance with my poi?" I asked and you answered, thank you very muchly.

I would love for you to break down that second turn where the poi was moving vertically while maintaining a plane. I can kind of see it, but I don't fully get it.
