FYI: I have found one problem Playseat, if you see this. In the video, I state that I planned to move the standard CSL pedals closer together, but with this pedal plate, it's not possible (unless I'm missing something). Whilst the upper fixing gives me lots of horizontal choice, the bottom one is tiny, so only fixes the pedals in the wider configuration. I'm getting used to it, but longer horizontal slots on the bottom would be nice @playseat

I'm a bit confused. It should be compatible with CSL pedals and the distance between the pedals shouldn't matter for mounting. There are four attachment points. Two M8 holes on the top of the pedals and two M6 threads on the front plate. From the bottom part, the pedals are attached only to the front plate, not to the pedal tray. The two plastic sleeves that came with the pedals should be placed between the front plate and the pedal tray. As a PC Sim racer we only use cockpit view for better feel and immersion. In GT7, have you tried pulling your monitor way closer so it's actually Just hanging over the tip of your wheelbase. Then maybe you can nice dial in a nice one-to-one experience I'm not sure with gt7. Perhaps it's worth a try or I should do more research. I do own a PS5 but I also have the psvr2 and oh my God is that ever immersive right in the cockpit one-to-one view. It's beautiful. I know some of the e-racers don't prefer VR cuz I can't race as long and there's not enough HUD information. I really hope you get a chance to try the psvr 2 You will feel so connected to the car. The rig looks like it fits you pretty good so I'm happy it all worked out for you 👍

Thanks. Yeah, the fit is really good for me. Spent a lot of time in it over the weekend and super comfortable. I hear what you're saying about PSVR2 and maybe one day I'll try it, it does sound amazing, but in the meantime, I did pull the monitor a little bit closer and it's now more than enough for me :)

Nice review! How flexible is the seat? I have the Playseat Trophy and there are a few spots that are a bit flexible that bother me. I would therefore be very interested to see how the Playseat Instinct performs under more load. I would be particularly interested in the flexibility of the steering wheel mount and the pedal mount. In your video you can see a slight flexibility in the pedals. Since I have had the Playseat Trophy, I spend time in front of the PC only when I sit in the Playseat Trophy. How does the Playseat Instinct behave when you are not driving but just spending some time?

Thanks. Yeah, all the flex I'm experiencing is visible in the video. There's a little bit in the seat, but again, I don't notice it when I'm driving. As you say, there's a bit in the pedal plate, particularly on the brake side. I imagine this might get worse when I get the load cell pedal, so that's an area I might look to reinforce somehow. But that's not because I feel it at all, but more to stop it breaking from flex fatigue after a few months. The steering wheel mount has a small bit as well, but again, if you're driving reasonably normally, you won't feel it. As in, it'll flex if you're trying to make it flex. Overall, the whole thing feels solid when I'm using it, so I'm super happy with it. And yes, I could easily spend time just sitting in the seat, it's genuinely comfortable. Hope that all helps

I’m having issues moving the seat back and forth. When you loosen the knobs are you able to easily move the seat? Or is it very tough to the point you just give up?

Yeah, I agree that that's an area that could be improved. It's not easy, and I found that I had to get out, loosen the knobs and then sort of lift the whole thing to move the seat. Once it's in the right place, it's fine, but my brother will come to play and he's 6 inches taller than me so changing it each time will be a pain. I'd like to have seen a real-life style sliding adjuster, but I can see why they haven't for this price.

The Playseat Trophy is different, this is the Instinct, but I hear the Trophy is very good too. And it should work well with the Fanatec kit

heard things abt playseats creaking, which is the reason i want to upgrade rn lol so there would be no point. curious if youve had issues with it making squeaks.

I've been using it fairly solidly for a few weeks now and there's absolutely no creaking noises

Is the fanatec dd pro a PnP unit to PS5 or do you need a pc/console converter

Yeah, it just plugs straight into the PS5 via a USB. But be careful when you order on the Fanatec site, I think some of the PS Logo and some have the XBox logo. Anything with the PS logo will plug and play without needing anything else

Thank you for this review I think I might have to place the order now. Just a quick question about Fanatec shipping, I ordered my fanatec wheel a couple of days and it’s being sent out to ship. I was just wondering how long yours took to come after it said it was being shipped. Thank you

No problem, I'm glad it helped. I think the whole Fanatec process took about one week for me. If I remember rightly, I ordered it on a Thursday, it was shipped on the Saturday and got it the next Friday and I live in London. Hope that helps. The tracking was quite good

How close can you move the wheel? I’m about your size and prefer the wheel almost at face level and abt as close as possible.

Yeah, you could move it very close. The way the wheel mount arm is fixed would mean you could move it all the way away from you, or all the way towards you, if you see what I mean. It has the quick release variable mount, so you'd easily get it how you want

You'd probably need to check with Playseat, but I'd be almost certain it will. There are a lot of holes on the baseplate for all the major wheel bases
