That DOS game port that wasn't really a port... It was kind of funny that you mentioned that it reminded you of artsy-games like "Out of this World", which I *immediately* thought when I saw the footage. It is odd how often I randomly think of OotW and its game mechanics. I never owned it but i would rent it from Hastings back in the day. Many a weekend was devoted to jumping over crevasses, firing that laser pistol, dying from an alien dog... Fun times.

That game was so punishing. But we just kept at it because it was so cool. Some of those times when you had to put up a forcefield with the gun, take one step forward and shoot guys while your buddy tried to unlock a door were particularly frustrating.
