One thing I noticed is that, the later models (SCPH-7002 onwards) they optimised the BIOS to render on the full 576i PAL resolution as opposed to the earlier models where the logos look letterboxed.

And notice how the Sony computer entertainment logo text looks smaller on the later ones. Also, The text fades in but on the older ones it dosen't.

And another thing is that the melody on that screen is faster

@@arpwcos2011 It seems that the loading in general was made to be faster, probably a change in CD drives for the later models that made them spin faster.

Thanks for the reply, I posted the message a year ago and found out most of this through research and other videos over that time. You're right about everything you posted, I found out the same info. Other small things changed like the buttons going from written text to symbols and the laser drive was positioned differently inside the unit to be moved away from the internal power supply which apparently caused interference or damage to the laser.

In 9002 the Sony logo fades in instead of just appearing. Sorry for replying to a 7 year old comment lol
