As someone who plays on xbox exclusively and have been for over 13 years, I agree with the playstation fanboys on this. I also agree with Jasons take. Xbox has been woke garbage FOR YEARS NOW and continually feeds the customer base garbage. If not for 3rd party games like DD2 and Elden Ring, xbox would be on the same course Stadia was on. To further prove that point, here were the sales from 2023 since people like stats so much: Nintendo - 150 million units sold, Playstation - 50 million units sold, xbox - less then 30 million units sold.....yeah, xbox is a fly on the wall at this point. One other point; even though PS state of play was awful, their games have more replay value then 90% of xbox games....facts. No one who games for a hobby, gaf about sales, they care about FUN REPLAYABLE GAMES.

What you said about Xbox backwards compatibility isn't exactly true. They switched to a new software development kit with the new gen, GDK, instead of the previous XDK. But games made with XDK, which are essentially Xbox One games, do work on Series X|S automatically. Of course, testing is recommended to avoid bugs, but it works pretty much the same as the PS5 backwards compatibility does. The only difference is smart delivery. Because you can make a Series version with GDK, and a One version with XDK if you want to, just like you can make a PS4 and PS5 build separately. But all of those will be listed as one store listing. You can also go with XDK, and make your game Gen9 Aware, so it can use some features of the new console, but that's completely voluntary too. So it's way more likely, that the rumor floating around is the one that's actually true. Which means Capcom depricated Xbox One sport in MT, so the version they're using for these games is no longer compatible with XDK. And since there's no next gen support in the engine at all, it isn't compatible with GDK either. Which leads to no Xbox version on either gen 8 or gen 9. And since they're seemingly using the RE engine for new titles now, MT won't get next gen support at all.

The game itself (think physical disc wise) is only available for Switch and PS4, because those are previous gen systems. Sony still makes PS4 games. So that means you can add it digitally. If they still made Xbox One games, it wouldn’t be an issue. That’s why Alex is blaming Microsoft. Because they could reverse the decision to allow at least a digital version of the game. If it's the backwards compatibility issue then why do several older games like OG Xbox games still play on Series X? They clearly didn't upgrade them to next gen. Is it a specific issue with that engine? The previous capcom collections for old games are still on Xbox as well and labeled under previous generation so I'm not sure what the issue is unless it's licensing or something more specific

The entire "games don't come to Xbox because of Game Pass" argument falls apart at the seams the moment one considers the fact that third-party support has dramatically increased on Xbox since the introduction of Game Pass in 2017, not decreased. A large number of games, Japanese games in particular, didn't release on Xbox at all during the Xbox One gen, but nowadays Xbox gets a bunch of Japanese games from franchises like Persona, Dragon Quest, Ace Attorney, etc. And speaking of Ace Attorney, if MvC Collection not coming to Xbox had anything to do with "Xbox players don't buy games," then the Ace Attorney Investigations collection wouldn't be on Xbox at all. Neither would Apollo Justice Collection or Ghost Trick.

They not only blocked 180 countries but their games have no Drm so the people from those countries still get the game day 1. I have an Xbox Series X, a PC with a 3060 12gb and a ROG Ally. -The Xbox is on my living room. -The PC is on my bedroom. -The ROG Ally is to play on my bed or when I am out. Thanks to Xbox, I have saved tons of money and I have enjoyed most videogames I love. Thanks to Xbox Play Anywhere I can but a game once and get the XS and PC version with crosssave. I also have also Steam, which is the best platform in the world and I enjoy there those games that skip Xbox for whatever reason and now thanks to Family Sharing I can buy games with more people and get them cheaper than ever. I am more than covered and I insist: I play more and save tons of money. Money that I can invest in more important things than videogames. -There is life beyond PlayStation and Nintendo. A very great one, actually. Fanboys and paypigs are insane

Hey Alex you're actually wrong about how back compat works on Xbox. All Xbox one titles new and old work on the Xbox series consoles. The quote you showed is actually about how not all cross gen games that are on the Xbox series x/s will work on the Xbox one. Take for instance call of duty which has separate versions for the Xbox series consoles and Xbox one. The Xbox one version is playable on both Xbox one and series consoles however the Xbox series version version is only playable on the series consoles. You were however right that it is different to what playstation does since playstations version of back compat means that not every PS4 game is immediately playable on the PS5

So I listened to what you said multiple times and I was wondering why don't just release it for the Xbox One, I'm not sure if you meant OG Xbox or Xbox one, because on my series x I'm able to play mark of the Wolves and neo Geo battle Coliseum did they make a next-gen copy of those games?. If this the only way that the game could be released for the Xbox is the xbox one then do it I can care less if I don't get the play it on my series x and I will just wait until it becomes backwards compatible for the series x.... I just hope it really is able to run Steam whilst being a significant enough performance upgrade over the Steam Deck (with an OLED screen of course and actual feel in your hand a bit more akin to actual Xbox controllers). Maybe even colab with Steam to make it and the Steam Deck 2 a united platform if they’re willing. I already have a Steam Deck OLED and don’t want the handheld Xbox to be too much of a redundant purchase.
