Motorcycle licence is harder than car driving licence and he doesn't have car driving licence yet. You need to have good ability to drive in normal roads but also need to pass bike handling tests and those are hardest part of motorcycle driving licence.

Ah yes, the gentleman's agreement and the myth of "The Letter." Nobody knows if the agreement is real, or who (if anyone) made the call to limit speed. All we know is that after the release of the Suzuki Hayabusa, motorcycles were limited to 300km/h. And almost every bike is electronically limited to that magic number to this day.

I remember renting that as a kid. I had no idea it was made by the same people as Gran Turismo, but one of my first thoughts when playing it was "wow, this looks just like GT4." I looked for it again a couple years later but forgot the name, and oddly "motorcycle game like Gran Turismo 4" didn't find anything about it so I forgot about it till just now.

Tourist Trophy is the reason I got interested in motorcycles, just as Gran Turismo got me interested in cars. You should definitely put some hours into it and possibly move on to the Ride series. It’s surprisingly easy to understand motorcycle history if you are into cars.

Also motard is the term for bikes that are essentially dirt bikes with road tires, the riding style is different because you hold your foot out on the inside instead of putting your knee down. This is done because a dirt bike or motard seat is much higher than a sport bike, naked/standard or cruiser.

It's not a pain if you ride bikes in real life. It's kinda weird tucking in during the straights, but an awesome feeling using the wind as an additional stopping power. Can't really compare it with cars.

If theres a racing game from the past that can be emulated, its in there :) 35:00 Thats always a debate: Yes a Dodge Demon can kill you as much as a 1.0 Ford Fiesta. But while Muscle/ Sportcars cost 80k and are hopefully unobtainable for a young inexperienced driver, you can get a really fast bike for 10k.

This game is the SINGLE REASON I still have my PS2 up and running and even bought an expensive upscaler after the CRT TV broke. No, not even for GT4. There are other games like GT4 that can somewhat fill that gap today. No game can replace of Tourist Trophy. It is, to this date, 17 years after its release, THE motorcycle racing game. Nothing even comes remotely close.

Tourist trophy is the goat bike game. I got into it by just doing endless laps of trial mountain. After a week of being addicted to it I thought I'd check the forums and it turned out I was 5th in the world for trial mountain haha. The ducati is so good.

FYI - To get the most acceleration from a motorcycle your wheel will inevitably lift, the fine point is just barely off the ground applying the most torque you can without affecting the aerodynamics.

The test at 38 minutes is not a troll test. It is probably a test of your reaction time and hard turning skills. I had to do a test like that while learning how to drive an atv, bikes probably have a similar test

38:43 I find it funny how mad Dustin is getting at this license test when this is actually something I had to go through when getting my motorcycle license. They purposefully give you a random direction as late as possible so you can learn how to react quickly to something unexpected showing up in your path while riding. Has literally saved me from crashing with a passenger.

PGR 4 is fully playable through xenia on pc, actually doesn't have a sound bug that plagued 360 version and was never fixed

Yet until this time some Motorcycle Game simulator have been made from Italian developer, Milestone as "Ride Series". I really wondering if Kaz want to revive this game.... Yeah, no, motorbikes are fucking terrifying as a concept. Where a car has a ton of metaa weighing it down and limiting how fast it can move and accelerate, a motor bike is essentially just an engine, a seat, a pair of wheels, and a steering wheel.

Dude I'm addicted to your racing game videos, been binging on them for a couple weeks now! The ones I love the most are those where you go through a lesser known / forgotten game from a few generations back, like this one, Sega GT or Tokyo Xtreme. I have a recommendation of an unique game from that era, which you possibly know / have played but I didn't see any video about it: Auto Modellista, made by Capcom for the PS2 / GameCube/ Xbox. That game is one of a kind in so many ways, the cel shaded visuals, customization options, garage builder mode, it's just so different from other games of the period! If you've never played it, you're in for a treat. I recommend playing the GameCube version, it is noticeably better than the PS2. Cheers, keep on producing great content!

This is a game that I've known about and owned for *YEARS,* yet I have never bothered to even pop the disc into my PS2 to actually try it out. Honestly this video made it look just interesting enough to actually give it a try. It's literally the only other HD game I own for PS2 other than GT4, so at least it will be a visual treat. This has always been one of my favourite PS2 era games, full stop. It flew under the radar here in Australia but my love for everything Polyphony had me champing at the bit to give it a go. I did watch a fair bit of motorcycle racing growing up as we had a number of world champion riders through the 90s and 00s and all of their bikes were in this game so I just had to give it a go. If you love GT4 and have even a passing curiosity about motorcycles, absolutely give this a go!

Also no one has able to put custom content to gt4 iirc (Edit: Theres spec II mod exist, but it mainly focuses on porting and restoring content)

If you've never played the four ATV Offroad Fury games on PS2, I highly recommend them. ATV Offroad Fury 4 is the best IMO, best music and four vehicle types to choose from.

I actually finished playing Tourist Trophy on PS2 back then, and the hardest part is playing the mimic (8hrs/12hrs) challange instead they change it to 30/50 laps. And yes, TT doesn't have auto play/pilot like GT4 did and you gotta play it manually. And the best body form are "lean body" and set the tuck in as auto, so that you always at attack position. TT applies every bikes setting combination like GT4, so yes editing final ratio and gear does effect how the bikes accelerate and top speed. Suspension compression, rebound, preload also dramatically affect on how fast & sharp you can take a corner.

I believe we've never seen a sequel to this because Polyphony desires a more intuitive controller to represent a bike, whereas cars have racing wheels. The PS2 was an era where they actually made a few motorcycle racing controllers. I actually have the Yamaha PS2 Motorcycle Controller and use it on PC for the Ride games, it's fun but really difficult.

Nah they just suck. Polyphony sucks in my opinion. They focus to much on Japanese crap for a western game. Japan HATES motorcycles with extreme predictive. All bikers there are seen as criminals.

God the memories!!!!!!!!!! I got this game when I was 7 and I played it religiously for years. My mom’s ex was a huge motorcycle enthusiasts and bought this game the same day he bought a sliver BMW Motorrad K1200S '05. And that same bike was in the game so in my head I was “training” myself to understand that bike so one day I would ride it. He would sometimes go to racetracks my mom and I would tag along to see him do some laps.
