To me this is very dumb on Sony's part. It tells people who haven't yet signed up for the Playstation Stars program to never sign up to it on top of potentially angering a lot of people currently using the program.

The only thing I would ever use a service like this for is the wallet as well. I like collecting things in games, like say there is a homestead in a game or a customizable house in a video game and I can put stuff in that, that's cool, but I don't really care about putting stuff on some digital shelf just on the PS infrastructure. It's fine if people do, and it probably makes about as much sense as me caring about trophies and achievements so I'm not judging it, but it's just not for me. The wallet though I also redeem on Xbox, so this is kind of a bad look if they're scaling that back on PSN. I'm still not a huge fan of this program in general, because I feel like it's just another one of these programs that pushes people to buy digital only so that they get these rewards points, but at least you're getting something back if you're already buying something that way. If they're going to make it so certain people can't, that's just lame.

I still have the 10 dollar option but I remember people complaining about this when it happened. Weird that it’s not a bug. I generally net around 20 bucks a month in wallet rewards, but I also spend them pretty quickly as well. With this move I’m actually less likely to buy as many games as popping off a 5 dollar reward would usually see me checking the under 20 or under 15 sale categories or even higher to pick something up with the rewards (and spend more on top of it). With only the 10 I’m going to be doing this less often and I’m more likely to stack them against one new game not a bunch of smaller games on sale. Between this, and not allowing points to be used for subscription renewals, and dropping expiration from 2 to 1 year for points (points accrued before Oct 24 will be grandfathered in and still good for 2 years) it’s kind of weird. They also stopped allowing people to reup Plus during the Days of Play sale (new subs only) starting this year so they’re really squeezing people. Rough for those who got wallet rewards removed entirely as you’re right, they were the only good rewards really.

All mime are gone, £5, £10 and the £20 are all gone. I barely ever use the points as I don't play enough to earn it. A few days before it went, I had them available, but now it's all gone.

I have lost the £20 option for me and have the £10 one for 2500 point. I am not sure if I have lost any points or not. I've only ever got one reward for £20 and that was once, I cannot remember getting of the digital rewards or add-ons etc

I've been wondering about this because I was redeeming the $5 wallet funds (it must have been different in Canada). The rewards I have currently available are Palworld, CoD points and Helldivers 2. Nothing else applies because I don't play the games that they're trying to give me currency for. So dumb 🙄

The only somewhat useful thing for Playstation Stars being removed makes the whole thing pointless. I'm not interested in the games they offer with the points or already own the games. And all the premium currencies I see are for games I don't play/own. Why even bother? I'm not buying some stupid collectible that people can go to my profile to see (if they would even bother). I don't look at other peoples profiles to see what collectibles they have. I at most look to see what games they have or what trophies they have completed for games I have. The absolute morons in charge if this whole thing need to learn, but they likely won't because they don't have the brain cells to do so

For me both the 10 dollar & 20 dollar psn cards are gone...sucks cause like you i thought the PS stars was pretty cool that we could get some money back from all the games,dlc, whatever we would buy from the ps store. Now.. not so cool & dont think ill be using it anymore till they bring it back. If they do. damn shame.
