The only reason most of ya'll know the point of Maria is because you played the original. The fact that they decided to disregard visual storytelling for the sake of "modern audiences" is frightening. No respect for the original vision. The point miltonmilky was making is that a person new to the game would have no clue and no subtle hints as to the reason Maria exists.

Bloober deserve credit. The remake in many ways surpasses the original except for a few parts (the letter and some Maria scenes). The fact that the director of the original silent hill 2 made a twitter account just to express how much he loves the remake shows how much love went into this project

@@internetsearchhistory774 I disagree. The world of ZD looks amazing, but the lack of motion capture in the characters performances stand out like a sore thumb. Especially if you play the Frozen Wilds DLC at the half way poin and then go back to the main game. Everyone goes from being animated to being robotic and stiff with bad dialogue. Child Aloy looked weird too, having a big head and a adult looking face. So I can't wait to play the remaster with the mocap and 10 hours of re-recorded dialogue.

Silent hill 2 works better, as it is a standalone in the series and is arguably the most loved of the 3 originals. Although if this game single-handedly revived the series, I hope we do see the remake of 1 and 3.
