I’m not gonna say they didn’t but not really. The concept was all the way back in 2016 with Quantum Break being a completely separate universe. Which is wayyyy before marvel did the multiverse on screen. It was reinforced with Control in 2019 again wayyyy before marvel started doing multiverse with hints of entities, Hatch/Door, shifting between realities along with paranatural items from other dimensions bleeding into Alan Wakes universe

How is nobody talking about how we'll get to play as Rose, even if it turns out the twist for Rose's campaign is that her's will be like Prey's Mooncrash dkc and it's her going through severe "loops" or rather drafts of Alan's works, fighting thr darkness in ways that one ends it from getting to ahead of Alan, like preventing things that try to overlap or seep over into future drafts of the script ultimately helping how in a way that technically leaves room for her to see somw action, whipe also not being in too much immediate danger. Her only real job occasional helping Alice's efforts eith helpijg Lan escape but mostly preventing any lose ends from carrying over from a previous loop unto further interations

This single announcement more than makes up for the continued death of E3! I can't wait to see thing through Rose's eyes. I'm really intrigued by the fact that we aren't seeing Tim Breaker or Jack Joyce in the second clip, but the actual actor Sean Ashmore and Sam himself, which could have major implications for the whole "Are they real people or are they actors? debate. And we all hoped Jesse would crossover, so its really nice to see that become a reality... even if in this reality all of these things are happening on the "fictional" show of Night Springs.
