Still, there's been a huge PSVR2 boost lately as OP said, it's hard not to notice but you're also right that VR in general has been getting great attention.

Playtimes vary depending on a lot of factors, but we set out to make a game that you could play in 8-10 hours. We've also designed the game with players new to VR in mind, providing opportunities to save as you go, allowing for shorter play sessions while you get your "VR Legs" under you.

I want to see the VR industry grow so I’m happy to back projects that genuinely interest me. Note to developers. The Alien movies have always had a sense of tension, of dread. This game lacks that in my opinion. Aliens are easy to kill, they cartoonishly explode from bullets. And if the alien catches you, you almost immediately see the screen of death, there are no details as the alien can kill you in different ways. Like biting different parts of your body, dragging you into a vent somewhere, or throwing you up. The deaths are always the same. There's no combat other than just shooting the alien and eventually seeing it cartoonishly explode. A game of this plan needs more horror moments, in the alien isolation I felt more fear. I really hope that in the updates of this game, or in the second part, the developers will take into account such moments.

I’m not sure if I should pick the PS5 or PC version because while the PC version has better graphics, better performance, and more customization, the PS5 version has headset rumble, adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, and foveated rendering which makes the game more immersive. Either way the PSVR2 will be my main VR headset because OLED is ideal for dark games.

Yeah I’m torn between the PC version and PSVR 2 version too. However I would take a downgrade in visual clarity over the immersion technology behind PSVR 2. Imagine firing a machine gun and maybe a flamethrower and the haptics just hit right. The impact of an alien attacking you and the rumble. After a while your eyes adjust to lesser visual clarity and forgets a slight downgrade. When the audio hits right and when the haptics hit perfectly you remember that all the way through the game. Without haptics you will feel something is missing right from start to finish but with visuals your brain will forget after just 20 minutes in.

Snap turning is a common comfort setting that helps with motion sickness in vr

@@Tyler-hs9eu don't be afraid to use snap turns, teleport movement and vignettes (the black around the edges when you move). Yes they hurt the experience but they all can help you get used to vr. Then as confort grows you start dialing them back. DO NOT PUSH THROUGH DISCOMFORT. Stop playing until everything is back to normal.

Almost all VR games have the option to turn on/ off snap or smooth turning. Once you get used to VR and motion sickness isn't a thing, definitely try smooth turning.

It looks a little different in the headset of course but it's totally worth it because the immersion is stunning in this awesome environment... Some games have even higher textures such as Red matter 2, Subside and Cyube, so that you can't see almost any difference from the "social screen/flat output"
