The camera just pulled out... and out... and out, intimidating you with a proper perspective of this thing the Shinra Corporation had enough clout and funds to create when they were less powerful. I felt so tiny. And you can even see they were working on _expansion_ ... there was construction equipment and clusters of lit buildings on those plate extensions outside the wall.

The transition of Sephiroth's theme overlapping Aerith's theme feels like an ominous storm hanging over the horizon. Gives a sense of how Aerith feels hearing the Planet's desperation and pain. We've never really been able to see or understand exactly how Aerith feels the planet communicating with her beyond 'talking', but with this I can feel the warning the planet is giving Aerith. Urgent. Pay attention. Tactfully done. So excited for this.

Aerith and Sephiroth are basically there to change events of the original and the Whispers (arbiters of faith) were there to stop the original timeline from changing which is why they kept popping up throughout the remake during important events.

Rewatching this now in March 2024, I see it in a new light, the hints of One Winged Angel represent how the Sephiroth we know from this game is either from or fully aware of the original timeline and this time he is going to try and stake more of a hold over Cloud and us to achieve his goals. Rather than appearing at the end of Midgar, he is now showing that he is lurking all the time, even in the opening cutscene.

Almost 20 years ago, my grandfather played this game everyday. He finished the game and keep grinding or even replay it forever ( Until FFX arrived then he continue this loop with it). I remember the soundtrack of this game and it keep giving me goosebumps everytime, even until now. When I was about 9 years old, i remember watching FF advent children with him and we felt so hype about how cool the animation is. I hope he is still here with me Today. I hope he can see how I've grown up. I wish I had a chance to buy him his favorite game :) . The game is releasing, but I wish it was 6 years earlier :) . My jaw quite literally dropped in awe when I saw Aerith and heard the music. I had been staying away from almost everything when it comes to this game and I'm glad I did. Seeing it now and so close to release... just wow.

I know I'm late to the party. But, playing this at 144hz max settings was one of the best experiences of my life. I've spent countless hours playing FFX and I never got the chance to play FFVII cause I didn't own a ps1 back in the day and I wasn't familiar with custom firmwares and everything so I could play it on ps2. When I heard that there was going to be a remastered version of this coming out for the ps4, I smiled from ear to ear and got a copy at day one. Now, a full year latter and I just finished the pc version. The characters, the fun to play style of the game, the direction, I'm simply so happy that there will be a whole another generation learning about one of the greatest franchises of all time. Can't wait for part 2!

The hawk flying to Midgar at the begin is already a manifestation of Sephiroth. We can hear "one winged angel" notes.

The music building up, the horns blasting out, the fantastic lights and animation, Midgar truly feels alive, breathing, and darkly beautiful.
