Cindy Alter is a South African musician, best known as front woman of the 70’s mega-successful band, Clout, who dominated the world charts with their hit ‘Substitute’ in 1978. An internationally successful award winning, chart topping, multi-million album selling singer songwriter, Alter's music career spans 4 decades, and 13 albums that have taken her to all corners of the globe including Germany, Holland, Britain and America. Cindy is also a published poet, and author and spent 15 years living and working on the music scene in Los Angeles. She returned to South Africa after beating leukaemia continuing as a full-time musician who continues to perform, write and record.
