I really like how this interlude characterized Glacie as unexperienced with this whole mess. He is actually disturbed could not save everyone and seeing someone turn. He is less of a warrior with a heart hardened by the horrors he has seen, and done and more of a fresh recruit who was told bad things were going to happen, but never internalized it until he was forced to live though the experience.

I thought he was experienced but got comfortable with his job (still able to care for other's safety and dislike having to kill the assimilated, but it has to be done) and due to this assumed he could take out the one found and come back to take out the fresh one..which was a miscalculation, as he wasn't fast enough at killing the tenta leading to the other rising up and changing someone. Everyone makes mistakes, even experienced people, sadly in his line of work all it takes is one mistake to kill someone. I guess Glacie could be less experienced? But from how much they know and the fact they said they've done this before it felt like they had a bit more experience (not expert levels but not exactly "rookies first day" kinda levels).

Heh I bet when production on this series started they didn’t expect it to mean as much to anyone who just watched it as it does for me. I started a whole KZbin channel because I wanted to make a few theories on this web series and I’ve made a couple but because of this series I’ve managed to finally get the drive to start and complete projects. It was my childhood dream to become a KZbinr and thanks to this channel it’s a reality. I’ve even started a web series of my own thanks to this little project. It’s hard to believe I first found this series months ago it feels like it was just last week. This series means more to me than almost any other web series. So to anyone who worked on this even a little thank you for inspiring me to get started and thanks for being the inspiration for my web series. Hey, new name and profile, came back to this today. Surprised it was 2 months ago, that time really slips away when you’re not paying attention. In fact, you’re first video on this project was 2 years ago, it’s so weird because even though it was longer ago I can remember clearer, back when I first saw episode 1, like it was a week ago. And I’m also surprised of how much I’ve grown mentally between “episode 1” to now, like, I’ve changed. Which is why I keep coming back to continued projects like these because it can bring back memories you would of forgot about otherwise, nostalgia if you want to stretch it. For example, another mystery dungeon project I’m watching currently is “White Rose” by Shinycobra, and I got to relive my first reaction when I rewatched chapter 1. And this channel i keep coming back to, the characters, the backgrounds, the music, the voices and narration, the story, the in-betweens, the behind the scenes, and everything that ties this project together. And sometimes I asked myself “why”? It’s the quality, and the soul, and the effort. All of this rewatching happened in 2 months, but I think it all just proves that this project is something truly special

Yeah…. Kinda confirmed my theory that Glacie is a cover name. Probably intentional in a more lighthearted relief way, but I would of preferred something more subtle. Whatever, nice callbacks to dialogue that people seem to joke about a lot, and good execution of an interlude. It’s good to see characterization that feels executed in a very organic way. And Kenya’s actor, pretty fitting not gonna lie. Best of success on the side story and Chapter 3, Gomes. It will certainly be a great highlight for people who really wanted something new for PMD this year. (I may have left the Discord…. For now. But… I’m always behind you). Cheers everyone!

The night was dark. But not too dark. The moon offered plenty of light to work with, a night, rich with opportunity. Audery, however, was serving a mission for the Heir, something that required her guile and _unique_ skillset. Recently a member of the village had been overcome by the murderous Affliction, however, he had not yet been killed. The heir wanted to have a better understanding of this affliction, hence, he wanted to know how the disease worked. So, Tardiff was sent to accompany her. Someone who could bring back the creature alive. Audery motioned. She made out two voices. They were talking about something. "Bag e'm?" Tardif asked, his voice barely a whisper. "No, that one's a town guard." Audery responded, knowing the local law by voice was an important thing in her line of work. Tardif then quickly pulled her under an overhang. "What was that for?" Audery asked. "Something's flying above us." Tardif responded "Could be the guard." "It's not like we can't get seen, it's just we can't beat someone in the street." Audery said in an annoyed whisper. "Com'on, let's just get this done with and get out of here, I've got a sinking feeling about this." Audery said. Rounding a corner, they ran into someone familiar. "Audery, what are you doing here?" Reynault asked, his helmed face illuminated in the light of a torch. "I should ask the same about you." Audery asked. "Junia sent me this way, we were assisting the civilians with evacuation, why are you here." Reynault responded. "Heir's business, You know where the infected one is being kept?" Audery asked. "Well, i don't think you'll be able to get to it, thing's stuck behind a massive sheet of ice." Reyanult responded "They asked if Junia could help him, but he was far too gone." Audery, was, disappointed. Not only had she just spent the past few hours. Looking up, a faint spark of hope that this night wouldn't be an absolute waste. The moon was only a third of the way in the nights sky, the carriage for them was only going to be there when the moon was in the middle of the sky. While the Heir likely wouldn't likely pay them full, given their return empty-handed. She was in a mostly abandoned village, while the inhabitants would likely return, who would notice a few valuables missing.

Theory about why Glacie has a cover name: He's Nila's older brother who had to leave her when she was a young Eevee and she doesn't recognise him as an adult, but she would know it's him if she heard his real name. And he doesn't WANT her to know it's him for whatever reason. UPDATE: HEY, WAIT A SECOND, I REWATCHED THE CHAPTER 3 SNEAK PEAK AND GLACIE FLED IN A PANIC WHEN HE SAW NILA COMING. I agree that Nala and 'Glacie' definitely have a prior relationship, but I am not sure that is why he picked a cover name. The sense I got for the sneak peak was that Glacie did not know Nala was in the area, so he had to suddenly leave when he saw her before she recognized him. My guess is the fake name is because he is part of a secret organization that is trying to lie low.

Rewatching this makes me wanna mention this: Torke definitely has very weird suspicions of Glacie and of his attitude, but it also makes me wonder that he doesn’t want to tell Oliver that he’s gay…. I mean… that he has certain distrust to Glacie and of his unfound attitude while keeping secrets, because after all they have to manage the town evacuation, which makes me feel that despite his very hot-headed attitude, he’s a very responsible guy who really cares about the safety of the townsfolk, especially with how Viester sells it with his voice acting.

Oliver was leading the ragtag group through the bustling technological town, and heading to Whiskerton Library, to search for a group of books detailing gifted humans who roamed the pokemon world in the distant past. As Kyle walked though, he could see the pressing eyes of everyone staring at him. He began to feel very nervous…” (Kyle) “E…Everyone is staring at me…” (Oliver) “Ahh don’t worry about that, my chipper friend. They are just… curious about your… erm… origins, I suppose.” (Kyle) “I… I don’t like attracting this kind of attention…” (Nila) “Well… It's kind of to be expected, Kyle. You’re… kind of a celebrity in town right now…” (Kyle) “A celebrity!? What!?” (Torke) “Nila’s right, kid. You are the absolute talk of the entire town right now! An Umbreon, from another planet. You were once known as… What was it? Humeat, or whatever?” (Kyle) “Umm… It’s human, Torke…” (Torke) “Right! Right… You’re a humean, a species that was… apparently known for amazing exploits and battle prowess within times where our world had apparently faced crisis. I never really read any of these stories. Thought it was a bunch of ridiculous ho ha fabricated by a bunch of drug addicts! That’s… kind of why I didn’t have any idea what a human was when you first told me. Never really… paid any attention to it before. But… considering all that’s happened lately… I think I can say that I… might have changed my mind… I might have to read some of these stories myself once that brainiac is done with them…” (Kyle) “Umm… Yeah…” (Oliver) “Yes… I’ve read some of these old tales myself. I had my own skepticism, but… there has to be some truths to those stories considering you’re here with us, Kyle. I imagine everyone in the town is asking themselves the same questions that we are. Are the old stories true?” (Kyle) “Ugh… I feel like I’m going to get mobbed by Pokemon any moment… I… I honestly wish the people at Research Lab Delta would have kept my origins sec…” (Narrator) “As Kyle was about to continue, he felt something tap his shoulder behind him. He stopped and turned around, and saw a young Bulbasaur, tapping his shoulder with vine whip. The Bulbasaur smiled at Kyle and looked at him with endearing eyes.” (Bulbasaur) “Are you… Mr. Kyle?” (Kyle) “Umm… Yeah… I’m Kyle… And… who are you?” (Sprout) “I’m Sprout! I heard all about you, Mr. Kyle!” Are you… really a hoo man?” (Kyle) “Umm… Yeah… I’m… I’m a human.” (Narrator) “Sprout began to get happy feet and his eyes lit up brightly!” (Sprout) “W…WOW! A real hoo man in town! Just like in the tale of Explorers of time and darkness!” (Kyle) “Umm… Yeah… I’m sorry… Umm… I’m… not familiar with that story…” (Sprout) “IT'S SO COOL! A hoo man saved our world from being cast into darkness for ALL ETERNITY!” (Narrator) “Kyle began to remember something he heard from Alita. When he was traveling on the road towards the village. He begins to flashback to the conversation by the fire. (Past Alita) “Yea, Kyle. There are many old stories that have been found in detail in ancient structures and incredibly old books. It’s not known how old some of these stories are. There was one that detailed a human transformed into a Totodile and together with a Meowth had saved our world from being cast into darkness forever. (Kyle) “(Thought) “Hmm… that must be the story this little guy is talking about… But… how is it possible for the world to be cast into darkness forever? Seems… outlandish…” (Sprout) “I can’t believe I’m actually talking to a real life hoo man! What’s your life like on the legendary world!?” (Kyle) “Well… I…” (Narrator) “As Kyle was about to say something, another pokemon tapped him on his shoulder. He turned around, and saw a Treeko. He looked very young as well.” (Ozzy) “Kyle! Kyle! I’m Ozzy! Are you really immune to that… assmimimation sickness, because you’re a Henan!?” (Kyle) “Umm… y… yes? I…” (Narrator) “Kyle began to see a bunch of the kids from the town circling him. They began to beam down question after question after question! Kyle began to step back against a wall!” (Kyle) “Uhh! Uhh! C…Calm down everyone! I… I…!” (Nila) “Hehe… Kyle seems to be popular with the kids in town.” (Oliver) “That’s probably to be expected. Many of the kids here have probably been growing up with these old tales. I can see some of the adults are circling him now as well. Seems they are also curious about him.” (Dewey) “Come on, everyone... We should probably help him out, right…?”

Kyle?” (Narrator) “Kyle breathed a sigh of relief and smiled at Oliver.” (Kyle) “(Whisper) Thank you Oliver…” (Oliver) “Well… Come along now, our heroic human.” (Narrator) They both stepped forward through the crowd and continued forward to Whiskerton Library. Kyle turned back one more time and saw a bunch of the pokemon waving at him as he continued forward.” (Sprout) “Bye, Mr. Kyle! Have a good day!” (Narrator) “Kyle nervously waved back at them and they continued on. After a bit of walking they finally made it to the Whiskerton Library. The building was made of marble and stood tall, with a dome on top and the statue of a dignified Meowth close to the entrance. (Kyle) “Huh… so this is…” (Oliver) “That’s right, Kyle. This is Whiskerton library. (Kyle) “Looks… interesting…” (Oliver) “This is a historic site in Pontea Village, Kyle. This is one of the oldest buildings in the entire town. It’s been run for years by a family of Meowth and its evolutions.” (Kyle) “Huh… I… guess that makes sense with the name “Whiskerton library,” and the statue of a Meowth at the entrance.” (Nila) “Well then… What are we waiting for everyone? The books aren’t going to come to us. Let’s head in and start looking.” (Josh) “Yeah! Let’s go! (Narrator) “Everyone nodded and they headed inside the library. The walls were Dark brown stone stuck down and stacked on top of one another. There was a sprawling circular staircase in the very center leading up and up and up across multiple floors within the establishment. Lines of bookshelves across the entire establishment gave a sense of knowledge of all types that could be found if you knew where to look. There were a couple tables with comfy red stools to sit down next to them. There were also oil lamps on top lighting up the table. Looked like rather comfy places to read.

Let’s start looking!”

(Narrator) “Everyone nodded and began to walk away. Kyle looked at Josh, and saw he had a big smile on his face. Kyle was a little disappointed he couldn’t look with Nila. He gave a sigh and nodded. He stepped towards Josh.” (Kyle) “Well… Where should we start looking, Josh?” (Josh) “Umm… Oh! Let’s look in over there, next to the big picture!” (Narrator) “Kyle looked towards a large picture, showing a Meowth in a Nice green Sweater, holding a book and smiling forward. There was a label under it. It said “Curator: Mr. Spotsworth.” (Kyle) “(Thought) Huh… He looks… dignified… I wonder if he’s in today? Would be easier to find it if I just ask the librarian.” (Narrator) “Kyle looked around the area to see if Mr. Spotsworth was anywhere in the vicinity. But he didn’t see him around…” (Kyle) “Umm… Josh? I’m… I’m going to look around for the curator of the library. If anyone knows where any of these books are, it's him.” (Josh) “Aww, Really!? I thought we’d try to look together!” (Kyle) “Umm… I’ll just be back in a few moments, Josh…” (Josh) Aww… Ok.” (Narrator) “Kyle began to search around the bottom floor for Mr. Spotsworth. He searched for a bit of time, but didn’t find him. He gave a sigh and went back to Josh. Josh looked at him and smiled!” (Josh) “Well? Did you find him, Kyle?” (Kyle) “N… No… I didn’t find him… Any luck finding them here?” (Josh) “N… No. The books under here are apparently to learn different types of spells...” (Kyle) “Ohh… Well… Where should…” (Narrator) “As Kyle looked a bit, he saw the label “fiction,” above a section of the library.” (Kyle) “You know Josh… Could these books… possibly be in the fiction section?” (Josh) The fiction section? But… Aren’t these books… supposed to be non-fiction?” (Kyle) “Well… Yeah, but… humans… were never really… known to have existed… in this world… Just… rumored… Maybe… the librarian instead placed these books in the fiction section because… he doesn’t believe in humans?” (Narrator) “Josh scratched his head a few times, but then he nodded and smiled!” (Josh) “Yeah! You might be right, Kyle! Alright. Let’s check around there!” (Kyle) “Shhh… Keep your voice down, Josh… It’s a library, remember?” (Josh) “Ohh… Yeah… Sorry…” (Narrator) “They both nodded to each other and headed towards the fiction section. Some time passed, and everyone was still looking in their respective places in the library. Torke and Oliver met each other near the steps to discuss if they found anything.

(Oliver) “Well, Torke? Any luck?” (Torke) “Nope. Just a bunch of pointless history and romance novels.” (Oliver) “Hmm…” (Narrator) “Oliver looked around a bit again. Then, he saw something peculiar in the back. A Meowth in a nice green sweater was placing some books back on the shelves of the library. Oliver realized it must be the curator! (Oliver) “Hey Torke. I’m sure he might have an idea of where to find them…” (Narrator) ”They both nodded to each other and headed down the steps to where Mr. Spotsworth was.” (Oliver) “Excuse me? Mr. Spotsworth?” (Narrator) “Mr. Spotsworth turned himself around slowly to face Oliver. He had a book in his paws, called “Spellcasting for Spooks.” He smiled at Oliver and made eye contact.” (Mr. Spotsworth) “Oh! Greetings sir! Are you looking for something in particular? I have this spell book here that’s GREAT for learning new ghost type spells.” (Oliver) “Umm… No… Though I might read that later… Anyway… I’m with the Pleada Rescue team, and…” (Mr. Spotsworth) “Oh my goodness! Your part of the evacuated pokemon from Pleada town, correct?” (Oliver) “Umm… Yes, my good sir.” (Mr. Spotsworth) “Oh it's nice to see some new faces in town and in my humble library! I’m so sorry to hear about the troubles in your hometown. I hope this whole ordeal with these very sick pokemon will pass over quickly.” (Narrator) “Torke crossed his arms and began to tap impatiently…” (Torke) “Buddy. We have some important business to take care of right now. Can you help us or not?” (Mr. Spotsworth) “Oh deary me. So sorry. What can I do for you lovely gentlemen today?” (Oliver) “We were… looking for some specific storybooks from the library for something important.” (Mr. Spotsworth) “Oh! You are looking for storybooks! Oh how fun! What specifically are you looking for? Fiction, Nonfiction, adventure, action, romance…?” (Oliver) “We… well… We’re looking for books… specifically pertaining to… past experiences with humans turned into pokemon and summoned to the pokemon world.” (Mr. Spotsworth) “Oh deary me… I’m so sorry. I… I can’t quite help you with that request.” (Torke) “WHAT!? You don’t have any books on this subject!? (Mr. Spotsworth) “Please keep your voice down. This is a library. And actually… yes. I have these types of books. HOWEVER… the books I have on the subject are the REAL DEAL manuscripts.” (Oliver) “What do you mean?” (Mr. Spotsworth) “Please follow me…”

(Narrator) “Mr. Spotsworth motioned the two to follow him. He went to a special reinforced glass case to the back of the library. He tapped on it a few times. Oliver looked inside, and saw several old books contained within.” (Mr. Spotsworth) “Here we are my friends. These are the original written manuscripts pertaining to the mystery of humans. These well worn manuscripts have survived generation to generation due to the careful hands of me and my ancestors. These books were found quite a long time ago and given to my ancestors after they dug them up at an archaeological dig. These books contain stories of ancient humans, said to have been summoned to the pokemon world during times of crisis and discord!” (Oliver) “Ok then. And…?” (Mr. Spotsworth) “And unfortunately. These manuscripts must be handled with the utmost care! They are very valuable and old. I simply can’t let you take them unfortunately.” (Torke) “What!? But… We need those to help find a cure!” (Mr. Spotsworth) “Now now, fellas. While I understand that you might need a peek at these, I simply can’t part with it for you… Wait… (Gasp!) Could it really…?!” (Narrator) “Mr. Spotsworth turned his head towards an Umbreon, seemingly looking around for something in the fiction section of the library with an Oshawatt right next to him.” (Mr. Spotsworth) “It must be! The human hero from the Research Lab at the edge of town! My word! I never thought he’d…!” (Narrator) “Mr. Spotsworth began to head towards the young Umbreon, past Oliver and Torke, who followed the Meowth. Kyle searched his head around the section, looking for a possible label in the fiction section about “human stories.” Then, he suddenly heard a soft voice behind him as he looked…” (Mr. Spotsworth) “Excuse me, young man.” (Kyle) “Huh?” (Narrator) “Kyle turned to where the voice came from, and found Mr. Spotsworth smiling at him, clearly excited by the Umbreon’s presence. (Josh) “Oh! That’s the guy on the picture, Kyle” (Kyle) “Oh! You’re the curator of this library. Right?” (Mr. Spotsworth) “Oh why yes, young man. Mr. Spotsworth, at your service. And… If I’m not mistaken, you’re that bold young human being cared for at the research lab at the edge of town. Right?” (Kyle) “Umm… Uhh…” (Narrator) “Oliver and Torke stepped forward and nodded at Kyle. Kyle understood what that meant.” (Kyle) “Umm… Yeah… I’m… the human who’s being… researched and studied for a possible cure for assimilation at Research Lab Delta… My name is… Kyle…” (Mr. Spotsworth) “My word! You’re the talk of the town my friend! It’s truly an honor to meet such a… fantastic creature! Do you like books, my friend?” (Kyle) “Uhh… Yeah. I like to read on occasion when I have free time…” (Mr. Spotsworth) “Ohh! Is there anything in particular you’d like me to pull up?” (Kyle) “Uhh… Yes, actually. I’m… sorry to trouble you with this right now, but… I was sent here by a scientist from the laboratory. Suri, his name is. He… He wanted me to come to your library to… look at a set of books that pertained to old tales about humans being summoned to the pokemon world to… protect it from… I guess… doomsday events? Suri believes… there… might be something in common with me and previous humans chosen that may be able to… help them understand… how to make the cure… Maybe there's clues in the books… or something similar...'' (Narrator) “Mr. Spotsworth turned back to Torke and Oliver, and then looked back at Kyle and gave a smile.” (Mr. Spotsworth) “Ahh! I see! So these two gentlemen here are your friends?” (Kyle) Ye…Yes, uhh… sir… Any chance… You can… help me find the books?” (Narrator) “Mr. Spotsworth scratched under his chin a few times. But then he smiled and nodded.” (Mr. Spotsworth) “Why of course, my young friend. Here. Let me open the case with the books in them. Please follow me.”
