honestly, i've been thinking the same thing. Sayori's version of the song just, sounds better than the original. It feels like it has much more weight to it. I don't get the same sort of, desperation and sadness from the original version. Sayori's mix manages to fill in those gaps, and makes the song flow better. I don't get the vibes of someone making a last chance attempt to try and get back someone they love. It feels more like a pop song that says sad stuff, rather than conveying it. not to mention this version (the one in the video) Also sounds better than the original.

@@thethunderspirt87 I agree; the original just sounded like eighth notes that never really went anywhere. The mix’s use of accidentals and off pitch instrumentals create such a thick tone that it makes you feel like you’re in their shoes. The mix perfectly conveys how and what they are feeling.

1:06 this part is the best in my opinion out of any cover and it got me thinking That’s a motif used in thorns, and was it confirmed somewhere that Grace was dating Senpai in this AU after Benjamin left? If so, it’s like she’s listening to Senpai sing as well and learning from him even though this was originally Sayori’s version of the song. Idk if Spirit and Senpai are separate people or are even in this AU because Thorns is Spirit’s song but I assume they aren’t because people usually assume they’re the same character
