Honestly George if you are autistic a diagnosis would only just confirm it for you. You seem happy and very in control of what you want to do and if you don’t feel like you need support from anyone then there’s no point rly getting diagnosed. Might give u peace of mind but it would literally change nothing as the most challenging parts can be getting through school and then going onto finding suitable employment. But yeah those are my thoughts you’re still you if you’re neurodivergent or not

hii george. i have autism myself, recently diagnosed at 15/16, im 19 now. i do see some things that relate in your behaviours, but autism is such a big spectrum that people can always show signs without having it. both my mum and stepdad are social workers and they believe everyone is on the spectrum and it depends on how 'extreme' it is. to be completely honest, if you get a diagnosis, it sounds scary and as someone who was diagnosed later in llife i understand that; but what i learnt is that does not change you at all and it will just give you a diagnosis, it doesn't change you whatsoever. with modern times and 'dark humour' the title can be intimidating, and everyone probably feels hesitant to speak of their diagnosis in fear of being made fun of but so long as you are happy with yourself that is all that matters, autism does not define a person. if you wish to get a diagnosis please dont feel afraid to do so, its sometimes relieving to figure out why things have been different in life compared to others. as a girl that grew up not knowing why everyone made fun of me and bullied me, it was hard without that diagnosis as i only had a adhd diagnosis. but trust me, things wont change for you; if people change around you that is their problem and not yours. stay strong king. :)

no offence but your mum and stepdad have no idea what theyre talking about, yes autism is a spectrum but that does not mean everyone has autism or that everyone is on the spectrum. That doesnt even make logical sense, autism is classified as a developmental disorder which means it is not the norm, if everyone had autism then it wouldn't be a developmental disorder, it would just be the norm.
