after reading all the comments, i just wanna say that i still believe what she’s doing is wrong, as she’s being too obsessive. i know she’s been stuck for 7 years but it doesn’t give her reason to be forcing them into her alliance. she was always mean, yes. but she’s way more jerk-ish and hard to watch (just my opinion). i still like pencil, but if she doesn’t change her approach to properly talk with book and icy, she’ll just continue becoming worse.

yes! that is the point! she is obsessive and needy towards book and ice cube because she has been without them for years and spent most of those years with david and bracelety, one of which can hardly communicate and the other of which is hyperfixated on one of her friends. this not painted as good behavior by the other characters in the show. book and ice cube want to stay away from her, price tag is actively keeping them away from her in tpot 14. pencil's also not that much meaner than before, recall that she calls ice cube garbage compared to match in... vomitaco, i believe? and kicks her from the alliance in insectophobe's nightmare 3 because she made an 'ugly face', which she reacts the same way to in bfdia 11 and tpot 14. reminder that ice cube is one of pencil's former friends, and pencil is desperately trying to get them back to friendship status. and she calls match needy in idfb 1, despite being way more needy in this episode. and she yells at ruby for pressing the wrong button in bfdia 5c, even though pressing the right button killed pencil. or how she refers to ruby and ice cube as bubble and match substitutes in bfdia 11, even though ruby's not even a substitute and she says she should value icy more in bfdia 6. think about it: if she acts this way towards people she cares about, then i see no reason why she would be any nicer to her enemies. pencil's just not a good person is the thing, expecting her to not be as rude as she is in tpot 14 is misreading her character

Here's why I actually like this new Pencil, and my reasoning for her actions. She's been in the EXIT for *ALMOST 7 CANONICAL YEARS* and has not gotten to see her friends. I mean, Match was in there but they split up 4 years ago to do the whole escape Four thing, so it honestly makes sense why she's so obsessive over her old teammates. After all, Pencil has only gotten 1 episode with all the BFB debuters (though they probably got to know each other prior to BFB, but still, I don't think Pencil would be particularly fond of them). And she's put onto CloudYAY, which has GB (who she hates), who's competing with Donut for leadership, Pillow (who's just a murderer), and other characters that she doesn't know well. It makes sense that she'd be obsessive with getting back with her old friends and be so "mean" (which might be also her being competitive; Pencil has always been a very competitive contestant and being the first eliminated in BFB, she wouldn't want it to happen again). I think this whole new setup of her finally being out of the EXIT and not realizing her old teammates have moved on could prove to be interesting for her, considering Book and Icy never properly had a resolution, yet they both hate Pencil.

This is the one thing I HATE about the community sometimes. Like, is every character in a show suppose to be a GREEN INNOCENT NICE AND NOT VIOLENT CHARACTER? Like, CloudyYay became my favorite team because of how much chaos and non-existant chemistry, they are in constant arugement but they always win because they still manage to pull through. Like, people just hate character growth, Match got out in BFB when she was clearly gonna have an arc about Bubble. Extreme disagree. It’s pretty clear to me that Pencil is very codependent on her alliance. She doesn’t say it, but she NEEDS her alliance. She’s always been the leader of such since day one. Being the leader of Freesmart is her identity. But then, she pushes them away by letting that power get to her head, eventually getting eliminated as her hubris. In the EXIT, we see that she’s DESPERATE to return to be with her alliance, but she fails. When Match is eliminated, she composes herself, and we see her take on the role as the leader of the EXITors. But once their mission to escape ends, she’s back to being alone. Now she’s in TPOT, where nobody from her alliance is competing besides the alternates she treated so poorly. It’s all she has, and she’ll try to get them back no matter what.

Hear me out- my prediction is that Match, Bubble, and Ruby are gonna all become friends again, then Pencil will eventually realize the error in her ways somehow, then Bubble and Ruby will have to talk to Book and Icy to get them to give Pencil another chance. A side quest could be to have Book and Icy make up fully for events if BFB, but I doubt that because Book and Gaty had no parting words. Then in the finale of TPOT, Freesmart is a big group of friends again, however they are less toxic than in BFDIA!

Pencil is one competitive player, which leads to be like bossy and mean that she can extend to kill for at least her team to win, she was mean at the very beginning of BFDI. Being isolated for months or years absolutely throws your mental health, it’s obvious she missed her friends but probably the EXIT affected her too much to the point that she acts like her BFB 1 self and more of that, i do prefer she became her calmer and more leaderable person in TPOT 11, but this is what Pencil is, "mean" however, she is just highly competitive as I said.

old bfb was unhinged af, and if you see what he was like in the one episode he was around for, you can definitely see this exact attitude. being a violent horrible person is unsurprising. due to this violence, nobody likes pencil, which makes her (i think idk i forgor don't get too heated over it) want to try and only make alliances with people she already knows, as alliances guarantee more success.

Pencil is my second favorite character I would do the same thing if I was locked in a room for 6 years she doesn’t have any friends yet and she’s very competitive I don’t mind her acting like this it probably won’t last for long people will probably vote her out the next time her team loses😒

I mean pencil has always had her alliance by her side match bubble ruby now that there gone I feel like that leads pencil to be more competitive in the exit she was like that because they all needed to work together now that there in a competition she can be competitive I do think she should just talk to book and ice cube but after being stuck in a room for 7 years spending years and years just opening door it would drive nearly anyone crazy

I wish Dora or Bracelety would have joined TPOT Dora: She might survive a few eliminations and she placed 4th in the rejoin, also in BFB she was very helpful Bracelety: Ice Cube slightly frowned (instead of slightly smiling) when she got out in BFB 4, so potentially they would become friends

I respect your opinion, but personally I understand how she's flawed. I still really much like her character, and obviously she's not gonna be the same Pencil as in BFDIA. I personally enjoy characters with flaws, since it makes them more interesting, and it could set up a good arc (if it isn't dragged on or cut off abruptly)

This is why I’m glad I’m not the only one who hates pencil, she’s bratty, mean, and annoying. And not the entertaining funny kind like Lollipop ( my favorite character ) after 4 seasons of lessons and torture, she still hasn’t learned her lesson. Like match. And pencil being obsessed with Book and IC is what will make her leave immediately. At least Liy learned HER lesson.
