I loved this just beautiful. Through hate for our race, lynchings, killings, drugs introduced into our neighborhoods, police brutality, etc. We celebrate love, life, and honor of each other. My friends husband's birthday party was like this, minus the casket. They marched and danced for him too. Watch a Ghana funeral and you will see why they celebrate everyday. Spread love even in death. Big difference, no ones celebrating his death, but his life.

People people people especially the person who post this video on youtube! Before you comment and judge! Take a look at this video carefully and closely! Notice the surroundings This not a funeral service. Its not even set up to be a funeral service. Look at the room. Its a hotel ballroom. Look at how the chairs are set and placed. There is not a body in the casket. GeeWiz! This is a competition that took place at the National Funeral Directors and Morticians Convention that was held in New Orleans Louisiana! The Convention is held every year during the first week of August in different cities! This year the Convention will be held in August 2015 in St. Louis Missouri!

Now, seeing the title is what made me watch this video, so imagine my surprise when I see this amazingly choreographed funeral march! By the title, I'm thinking, please don't tell me that they are going to knock the casket over or drop it, but this was tight! I don't see what the problem is. See, we have it twisted most of us, we are supposed to REJOICE when a person leaves this world and CRY when a child comes into the world, but we do totally opposite! I recently lost my grandmother and she was my backbone, our families backbone. I hurt like crazy and miss her terribly,but I couldn't for the life of me break down like I did at other funeral! Why... cause first of all, my granny was 98yrs old! Secondly, my granny knew and served the Lord and I know and trust in the Lord and I KNOW where she went! But the main reason is because I heard her speaking these words to me.... you dry up them tears right now, you hear me!? Don't you cry for me, I wish you could see the tears I'm crying for you cause Mamma is fine! I don't have no more pain, no more bills, no more worries! I am at peace waiting for you to get here! Me personally, I've told my family, I want the traditional New Orleans home going!!!! Louisiana folk got it right!

I have never seen this but it was well done. He must have been in a Fraternity, not a Sorority and this was his last request. Rest easy my brother.
@haroldbottom34748 жыл бұрын
Please look up the definition of sorority before using the word.
@haroldbottom34748 жыл бұрын
Amir Womack The answer is what school did you attended ? First of all,"U" is not a word in the english language. A sorority is a society for female students in a university or college, typically for social purposes. Men are in fraternities not sororities.
@ronblack91818 жыл бұрын
+ Amir...I believe, Shelia, is saying rest easy my " brotha," is 1, she means it in a Christian sense. 2, I don't know if you are black but in our culture we use the term " my brotha," a lot. So it could just that, or both? my Brotha.

Rain Bowens I don't think we hating, God said give honor where honor is due, God is not a traditionalist, the traditions of man are null and void! Jesus spoke against the traditions of man and their unGodly cultures, but nevertheless, death is a serious matter and should be treated as such, what's love got to do with his sons? Fraternity brothers? Whoever they are? tossing around his? dead body in a casket, love has nothing to do with nonsense, no matter who it is, they wouldn't do this to a woman, God forbid in Jesus name. Wake up Afrika! Oh great black continent, the dispensation of Grace Jesus has arrived, act like it.

I honestly think this is beautiful, anyone who says it's a circus or whatever you need to stop. SO what if a funeral isn't just go in church, pray and that's it, some people feel the need to celebrate the deceased persons life, and if that means singing, dancing crying and laughing all at once, so be it. Don't talk shit about other peopel doing it their way, have respect for cultural differences.

This is kinda reminiscent of some African cultures, where they carry the body and sing in procession... Except... They did a little much here lol. And I have sooo many questions... Like how did they practice this? Did they borrow a casket and put bricks in it to simulate the weight of a body? And I guess they had a good couple of weeks to get it right, because you know *us*, a person can die on a Monday and the funeral won't be until Saturday after next lol. Or are these guys professionals that you can hire for any service? Lol maybe it's a funeral home add-on. All-star procession for an extra $600.
