I have never seen anything like this in my life but you can tell these are brothers from his fraternity and it meant a lot to them. At the end of the day it was about sending him home in a special way and it isn't something that anyone else has to understand. That was their way of honoring him so I'm happy if they are happy.

I loved this just beautiful. Through hate for our race, lynchings, killings, drugs introduced into our neighborhoods, police brutality, etc. We celebrate love, life, and honor of each other. My friends husband's birthday party was like this, minus the casket. They marched and danced for him too. Watch a Ghana funeral and you will see why they celebrate everyday. Spread love even in death. Big difference, no ones celebrating his death, but his life.

People people people especially the person who post this video on youtube! Before you comment and judge! Take a look at this video carefully and closely! Notice the surroundings This not a funeral service. Its not even set up to be a funeral service. Look at the room. Its a hotel ballroom. Look at how the chairs are set and placed. There is not a body in the casket. GeeWiz! This is a competition that took place at the National Funeral Directors and Morticians Convention that was held in New Orleans Louisiana! The Convention is held every year during the first week of August in different cities! This year the Convention will be held in August 2015 in St. Louis Missouri!

Now, seeing the title is what made me watch this video, so imagine my surprise when I see this amazingly choreographed funeral march! By the title, I'm thinking, please don't tell me that they are going to knock the casket over or drop it, but this was tight! I don't see what the problem is. See, we have it twisted most of us, we are supposed to REJOICE when a person leaves this world and CRY when a child comes into the world, but we do totally opposite! I recently lost my grandmother and she was my backbone, our families backbone. I hurt like crazy and miss her terribly, but I couldn't for the life of me break down like I did at other funeral! Why... cause first of all, my granny was 98yrs old! Secondly, my granny knew and served the Lord and I know and trust in the Lord and I KNOW where she went! But the main reason is because I heard her speaking these words to me.... you dry up them tears right now, you hear me!? Don't you cry for me, I wish you could see the tears I'm crying for you cause Mamma is fine! I don't have no more pain, no more bills, no more worries! I am at peace waiting for you to get here! Me personally, I've told my family, I want the traditional New Orleans home going!!!! Louisiana folk got it right!

We Will Cry At A Funeral (When We're Going To Meet Our Maker) But Be Joyous & Happy When A Baby Is Born Into This World Of Sin. So think about it, Why is that exactly? We should be Celebrating a life at a funeral, bcuz no matter how short or long their days were, celebrate the time they were here.

It's obvious that these guys all knew the deceased very well and knew that he or she, would have understood and appreciated the way that they chose to carry them to their final resting place. Well done gentlemen, well done.

Lol! For those of you thinking this is crazy- I sure would love to see your faces in a creole funeral New Orleans ,,, we have what is called "a casket dance",,,,; it's a sign of respect .... Been done for many generations.

I don't see ANYthing wrong with that at all. I read all these comments first and thought it was going to be a 3 ring circus, or people "attempting entertainment" and failing. This is his family's send off to him, that's paying their respect to the deceased. None of you have a right to judge this. The song was very appropriate. It is a heart ache to lose someone on the earth to send them into the earth while their soul has already risen. That was professional..not that it matters...but it what they attempted to do.. they did with great skill and respect. Soldiers buried may get a gun salute with shots fired. Not everyone understands that, but again..it's a high level of respect in sending them off. Gee wiz people. Are we all still so stuck on "our way or the highway"? When will we EVER learn to blend. Just stop judging the way every one does their thing accept when it harms people. That's all. That's it. And this nation would be a different, and so much more magnificent if we could all just do that. Live and let live. Amen.

Jae Emm true live and let live what about God? What about how God feels about it, remember the Lazarus that died and wanted a cool drink of water in hell, wanted Jesus to just stick his finger in water and touch his tongue with just a drop of water, wanted to go back to tell his brothers to change their life so they wouldn't come where he was HELL

Beautiful! I know I want dancers and a brass band for my own funeral. They better bury me how I lived. Carry me to my grave with joy! But then it is an important part of my Surinamese Creole culture. Some Americans might frown on this.

I'm African-American and I have seen funerals with similar ceremonial stepping, but not quite as elaborate as this. The departed must have been a dearly beloved brother or mother or someone else very close.

I agree. Done with so much love and respect. Obviously the pall bearers new him well and gave everyone a little insight to the mans personality. He was looking down loving his brothers for celebrating him. Just love it. I would love it someone did that for me.
