Honestly gutted. Hollyoaks has turned this storyline into this. Before the year skipped, the storyline was handled great, but to turn it into this was wrong. Frankie deserved to see justice, and now it's at the same point it was before where Frankie is feeling alone and that she should feel sorry for the person who ruined her life. Wanted to see the end of this but I'm good now.

I agree with you Spencer Reid. He wants to support Frankie, but his son JJ (who abused Frankie), has cancer, so he is caught in an impossible situation like you say. In many ways this situation reminds me of when Dawn Cunningham who was the best friend of Darren's older sister Ruth, was diagnosed with leukemia. Ruth hated Dawn because she had an affair with her and Darren's father Jack and as a result Dawn became pregnant with a daughter named Beth who she gave up for adoption and Ruth struggled to forgive Dawn but when Dawn was revealed to be dying Ruth forgave her before she died.

Don't get me wrong, JJI don't give to whatever is about him, but seriously Darren's blind, he's blind blind with bitterness and judgement over the fact that JJ has cancer. And I'm like okay, you can get over it like he's in hospital the fact that he's asking to come home is wrong. this happens in real life, my abuser got cancer and died, police refused to bring him in for questioning because he was ill, they didnt care he was part of the reason i was ill and why my health was so bad as he preached against doctors and medication, leaving me without vital surgeries, treatments, but he was ill, i never got justice!!

After getting over my initial outrage of JJ's illnesses storyline. I realise that the point was not to make the audience feel sorry for JJ. Everyone and their dog is unhappy about that. Except the ones who say she should drop the charges. It's to show that part of Darren's character. The being torn with supporting both his kids. Like he said he hates what JJ did but he doesn't want him to die. I understand more why they did it. I think the spoilers I read about what Nancy does for Darren is a good gesture. I just want Frankie to get Justice and for him to admit what he did.

if he dies and everyone mourns the person he /was/ instead of what couldve been i'm going to lose my mind. he is objectively a bad person who needs intense therapy to reach any form of okayness. cancer doesnt change that. also not all leukemia is fatal (a good percentage of it isnt!!) and he was very very fit and healthy beforehand. stop throwing him a pity party and don't let him die to get out of the jail time he desperately needs. oh god and if the judge lets him go free because he's "sick"? dont even get me started that would be such a horrible choice

a therapist should be dealing with this, not darren. i agree with the comments about turning an important storyline into an abuser pity party. well and i recognize that that's what a manipulative abuser does. "you would be better off without me, so feel bad about leaving me" is NOT a normal depressed line of thinking and logic. in fact it doesnt logically make sense at all that someone should feel bad about something that makes their life better. if you're actually trying to play the angle of "oh we should care about jj's mental health", horrible horrible job. BUT if the goal is exposing his manipulation? ehhh that would be more viable. this is not a good portrayal of depression, don't try to make it that.

I wonder if anyone in his Family has had leukemia before and that’s how it happened) still it would’ve been good to have seen her talk some sense into him about doing the right thing. Hopefully he’ll get the right amount of treatment he needs and he’ll get better then continue going onto the trial and serve his time I have high doubts he’ll be returning and redeemed. 😒
