Wanna note, there is no end as the Manga is still being written. A second season is confirmed however - the manga's don't release often, with one or two issues releasing per year - it is theorised that the "second season" will be done till 2022 in terms of Manga and the anime will likely take a while to adapt.

This was one of the most heartbreaking heartfelt anime shows I've ever seen. Each episode was amazingly memorable with incredible visuals and was beautifully written. The relationship between the mechanical thinking golem and the innocent carefree child Samoli gave far more depth to the show then anything being put out on the big screen nowadays. If you like shows with real emotional overtones and a great story then Samoli and the Forest Spirit is an absolute must.

I'm a person that really likes fast-paced anime and dark topics like Demon Slayer, Attack on Titan, Soul Eater, Fire Force, ect. I randomly picked the first episode of Somali and the Forest Spirit when I was testing my Chromecast with Crunchyroll and within the first few moments I was totally entranced with the art and music. I ended up binging the entire first season and cried nearly every episode. I don't like parenting tropes or children in anime really, but this anime pulled everything off so well. 11/10, would recommend.

I’m not so sure if this anime counts as “slow paced” to me. It never feels like the episodes drag, intact some episodes feel like 2 in 1. I would STRONGLY recommend that everyone watches this anime. Of course there will always be people who don’t like it but this is an anime that I think most people would like. It’s a calming but not boring anime, there danger, happiness, sadness, etc. and it’s such an entertaining anime. I’m not gonna say it’s a studio Ghibli type anime but I feel like if you do like watching movies like 5 Centimeters per Second, Weathering With You, Kimi no Na wa, or just any Studio Ghibli movie then you’ll love this anime. I will say though, if you’re someone who likes to binge watch all seasons, I’d really wait till season 2 is out and finished. I thought the anime would be finished in one season but it feels like they’re half way to the end at the end of season 1 (I think, idk I haven’t read the manga yet). Anyways, I’d give this anime a 100/10 it’s now one of my top favorite anime’s and I’ll definitely be eagerly waiting to watch season 2 (I’m probably gonna need to buy a big tissue box).

One of the big messages of Somali and the Forest Spirit is that people are born hateful, it's learned and can also be unlearned. Human's for whatever reason came to hate the other sentient species of this world. They also taught their children to hate. That hatred caused the other creatures to attack them and drive them to extinction. Hatred begets more hatred. Separated from that cycle Somali is growing up to be an accepting and caring person; and those around her who are also separated from that mentality come to care about Somali. We also had the story of those kids hundreds of years ago where a single kind act completely shattered the bigoted worldview thrust on them and gave a glimmer of hope that maybe they won't be like their parents. It may be a simple message, but particularly in today's world I feel a very important one.

Shows that makes small injuries hurt really bad can make me feel the most intense emotions. It may be a silly example, but someone made an mlp parody of the green bird window scene from cowboy bebop. There is NEVER blood in mlp, so when I saw Twilight's forehead bleeding after being defeated by every vilain we had seen so far, with every good character in the grasp of these vilains, the known history of Twilight becoming responsible for all of them, the life flashed before her eyes in the bast way a fan can portray and the, seemingly the last ally she can rely on to help her, saving her from falling to her death... nothing made me feel anything more intense then the video titled "friendship was magic". I don't like how every episode of Cowboy Bebop does revolve around episode 5, and I hadn't seen it when I first saw that video, but it was... a lot to me. Damn most of the animes I like are full of people talking, they war with words about love or philosophical ideas and if there ever was a fight scene it's the one integral in the story and not just for the sake of waking the audience up. I love actions as much as the next guy but confrontation doesn't always need to be about two people crossing swords, feeling each others fists and or shooting the opponent dead to make a point.

Loved this anime. The ending could have been a lot better. We didn’t have a real conclusion and I was honestly expecting a sad ending with his last moments. Probably ending the whole anime with Somaly much older at her father’s grave looking at the the pink bracelet he got her and remembering the journey they took together until his last breath. Well, at least that’s the vision I had for the anime. Also, do they ever find other humans? What ever happened to Haitora and Uzoi. Did he ever found a cure for his condition? So many questions left unanswered.

That's the problem with adapting an on going manga series that is slow to release chapters. I'm talking 1 or 2 volumes a year. Somali only has 6 volumes and they adapted almost all of it in this season. It may take a few years to get enough material for another season.

I’m pretty easy to please. If a show has really great characters, a good premise, is pretty, and is very emotional, I’ll call it a masterpiece. That being said, Somali and the Forest Spirit has incredible characters, a great premise, is beautiful, and extremely emotional. 10/10 Big Character Spoilers Below Somali adapting to reign in her curiosity and recklessness to a certain extent for the sake of Golem , and Golem reigning in his overprotective behavior to a certain extent for the sake of Somali is such a beautiful pair of arcs. I really can’t wait until season 2. I will say the very last scene I feel was a bit quick. He went from unsure what to do, to leaving, to deciding he’ll stay as long as he can in what felt like 2 minutes
@thefanofeverything50394 жыл бұрын
I like the reason they give for Golem’s change. That Golem’s adapt to their surroundings and to fit certain roles, and here Golem is slowly adapting to being a father by watching other people and copying them. Ex. Watching a parent and kid hold hands he decides it would be safer to hold Somali’s hand. (Sorry if that is a bad example)
