It‘s (Pavlovian) conditioning, that happens automatically, even a dog and less smart animals can be conditioned, their brains automatically memorize what gets their needs met or brings them happiness! It‘s the same with children. Blakeley isn‘t „manipulating“ them or maliciously and consciously deciding to „fake cry“ now, her brain just saved this response as effective and thus initiates it automatically when she feels frustrated! The problem is the parents are using her for these videos! Chances are they didn‘t actually wanna put the ducks away at this point, they just said it to make her cry and record her „cute reaction“! Parents should make mindful decisions on when they actually want to say no (what are your reasons) and then stick to it even if the kids cry, but comfort them and be loving, patient and understanding towards their feelings! However, if they can speak already and give you some actual good arguments without crying, you can definitely reconsider your no and consider a compromise, since the skill to reason calmly, lead productive and respectful discussions/conversations and make compromises will benefit them later in life!
