Grommets in the ears, because children mainly get ear infection s why they put the grommet s in to help them not get infection s in the ears three of my children suffered with ear infection s and the ear infection s stopped

As an adult with allergies and autoimmune not right ...I too have tubes in my ears. They help tremendously. Assuming tubes are grommets. IF wrong...let me know.

IMO… I normally don’t respond to people on here, as those that find an innocent statement such as “Not Cool.”, are overly sensitive & look for any reason to insert themselves into a comment, but you happened to be the exception this week. My son eli had to have an operation for a hernia, not as a major operation, but I know Ben what it feels like when it's your own child, you feel on edge and wanting to get to them as fast as you can after operation... I’m 53 and still getting grommets every two years! Prayers to your wee one for a brilliant outcome and to you & mum! It’s tough when our wee ones are taken in for any surgical procedure. 🙏💚🍀 KZbin has gone bonkers!

I worked with E.N.T. Surgeons for many years and grommets are a great invention. If you don’t know what they’re for, quite often especially children will get a build up of fluid behind the actual eardrum (sometimes called Glue Ear). This can affect hearing, earache and sometimes even balance can be a little off. Grommets are tiny. The Surgeon punctures a minute hole in the drum, inserts the grommet, which has a very fine wire attached which aids with removal when the problem has righted itself. The one problem, is you cannot put your head underwater at all whilst they’re in. Tight fitting bathing caps are usually recommended.
