Mr Hedges (Alderton), is only allowed to bring his unruly class, '5C' to the School Camp, if he takes full responsibility for their behaviour.
*This film is over 50 years old and naturally, it does feature dialogue that is not always politically correct.
Starring John Alderton, Deryck Guyler, Joan Sanderson

I absolutely get why nostalgia is so more important now than its ever been, you can literally feel seeping from the pores when you talk to people in their 60s in particular. The 70s just seemed and sounded like a pure magical era. And hurting more that it's a time in the which the world will simply never let return. My late Mum spoke about it often

Quite possibly the only film that makes light of casual racism, sexism, bigotry, belittling mental health, animal abuse, domestic abuse, child abuse, xenophobia, underage drinking, teachers hitting pupils, anti-Muslim sentiment, anti-Traveller sentiment, false rape allegations, and alcoholism, yet is still well worth watching

Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window ? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." “What jolly fun” 5C go away to Stalag 17, or possibly Black Park, and I am sure it will bring back memories for anyone who has been away on a school trip so even though it was made before I was born the themes like school rivalry are universal and it is family friendly too. John Alderton leads a cast which includes Deryck Guyler, Joan Sanderson, carry ons Carol Hawkins, Patsy Rowlands and Peter Bayliss.

Just seen this on Talking Pictures and, guess what, they've been forced to make pointless edits. I only saw very few of these when it aired (born in 1965), but it rang a chord even then, as there were Victorians still about, while the mini skirts & long hair on the men told me the differences in those generations were caused by something huge. All those generations knew how to laugh, however.
