They excel in almost every aspect because they are very competitive, hardworking and perfectionist to the expense of their mental health.. Filipinos are hardworker too, hence, we are everywhere in the world working but we are not competitive. We work hard with our family in mind and not for competing to anyone.

i think it's also because most koreans like to criticize a lot. parang lahat issue sa kanila and their words can often be hurtful to the point na it really affects an individual. talagang kapag grabe yung pambabash sakanila, naaapektuhan sila nang sobra. this is just my experience/observation. no offense meant to koreans. edit: okay minention pala ito ni kuya jinho. great topic.

Si Fumiya na Japanese napanood ko sa vlog nya before na naliligo sya gabi pagka-uwi hindi gaya sa Pinoy na umaga naliligo bago pumasok which for me now kinda make sense kasi nga naman lahat ng dumi makukuha mo sa umaga all day pagpasok mo ng work, while kapag sa gabi paguwi ay matutulog ka na lang nun, wala nang kalat and all. This is what I like Korean people. You care about your country as a whole and you are very conscious na baka you say something that will be embarassing to Koreans or to Korea as a country. I’ve been to Korea and we ate in one of the restaurants near some palace gyeongbokgung ata… the old ladies are rude to the customers, we only knew that after coming in. Of course, we are still thinking of what to order and maybe they got impatient idk 🤷‍♀️ They got mad at us and decided to order at our table. The food is good ngl, but the customer service is terrible. Even during payment. 😅 After that incident, we saw a foreigner couple who just came out of the said resto.. I can see their evaluation thru their facial expressions which is not good. Apparently they’re filipinos and we had a small talk about our experience inside. They also said they got scammed by a taxi driver who is demanding a certain amount (which of course, they paid) without using the fare meter/taximeter … our group also had the same experience the next day but since we’ve been alarmed about this, we avoided it..

In the book, Makioka Sisters the youngest sibling wanted to get married already but the elder sister and 2nd sister stopped her and told her to wait until the 3rd sister gets married. Apparently, it’s because if the youngest gets married first it gives the older sister who isn’t married yet a bad reputation like there’s probably wrong with her and why does nobody like her, it’s the same why they wanted women to get married before they enter their 30s. Although, this is a Japanese book, Koreans and Japanese do bear similar culture and beliefs (not entirely of course) but I’m still not sure how accurate my info is.

Not taking a bath/shower is very true when it comes to the country with 4 seasons. When I was still in the Philippines and Thailand, I took a shower every single day because of the weather but when I migrated here in Canada, natuto na akong mag “no hair wash day” & taking a shower in winter is sooo hard since we are experiencing -20 to -40 temp🥶. We couldn’t go out as well with wet hair during this season. pero syempre we have to make sure na we are still washing “certain areas” of our body that need to be washed and for me personally, I used towels on wiping my arms and legs to feel refresh.

ano ba difference ng bullying,make fun of,at teasing? nung kabataan namin ndi pa uso ang bullying.I got called names, they point out your appearance or your character defect eg of taba, dabyana,uhugin,neggy, kulot,abnoy,bulol,uhugin,kulot,amerikanang hilaw,ututin,boy kamot. (ilan lang yan sa naaalala ko na tuksuhan sa klase namin lol) pero amongst sa group of friends ko ndi naman sila affected when they /we get teased.. kasi somewhat aware kame and may acceptance at we an also laugh at ourselves. Tapos at the end of the day we still play with those who tease us,we can be civil and some.. nagiging friends pa nga.. tapos kami kami mag aasaran at tuksuhan din. Npaka rare abd almost wala nung may intentional na manakit physically or gang up on you na planned na harassing ka lagi emotionally. sometines ngayon namimimisuse na din yung bullying na word( well sa pinas ha) thats just what I've observed. Wala na discernment,pag asses ng situation,mood at context mga tao. ano ba tong pinag sasasabi ko lol basta bottomline napaisip lang ako nabully ba ako nung bata pa ako? I remember back in 2005 when I was an english teacher to korean kids here in Rizal. Migad awang awa ako sa mga students ko specially that 12 year old boy na nag aaral pa kahit tinatrangkaso(forgot ko na name). Literal na tulo uhog nya habang nag didiscuss ako. Tinigil ko na lang dahil for sure wala syang nagegets. Im just amazed lang nung binilan ko sya biskwit at zesto nun, talagang nag ningning mata nya sa excitenent, after lafang nag turuan na lang kami ng basic korean and english words, take note naenjoy pa nya yorn kesa sa mga adjective/adverb na pinagsasabi ko. Ang malas lang nahawa ako sa kanya 5 days ko lang sya naturuan, nagkasakit ako and I had to give up teaching since grabehan mga kids na tinuturuan ko except him. Nagbabardagulan sa harapan ko and dedma lang sa mga suway ko, ung bang palakihan sila ng bukol sa noo. And im scared na baka sakin isisi un since hindi naman kami under school. Parang family business lang nung korean employer ko ung pinasukan ko. I remember my co teacher told me na hinahanap daw ako ni bagets (lets name him seung kwan) un ang pumapasok sa utak ko eh, nagalit ng bongga si employer sakin kasi ang dami kong student na binitawan tapos umiiyak si bagets at gusto nya na ako magturo sa kanya so gets ko ung galit ni employer pero no choice ako dat time i was severely sick tapos pindalhan ako ng job offer sa call center nun. Kakamiss din ung mga kids na un kahit pasaway lalo na si sweet boy seung kwan college na cguro un. 😭

iba ang klima sa ibang bansa, isama pa na iba ang environment. wala po ako sa korea pero totoo na madalang maligo ang mga tao from countries na may 4 seasons. ung environment din po kasi iba lalo kung sa mga highly urbanized area. di katulad sa pinas na maalikabok kasi bukod nga sa tropical ang pinas, maraming areas na exposed ang lupa. di katulad sa ibang bansa na madalang kang makakita ng exposed talaga ang lupa dahil sementado karamihan ng daan. tsaka dahil di tropical ang lugar, di loose ang lupa kaya di mo problema ang alikabok, unless nakatira ka sa mga rural areas. even during the summer kahit na ba napakainit, di ka papawisan at manlalagkit kasi centralized heating at airconditioned ang mga bahay (kailangan kasi maninigas ka sa lamig kung wala kang central heating, at maluluto ka sa init kasi sobrang init din ng summer). paglabas mo more likely ung transpo ganon din may ac at heater, pasok ka sa mga buildings, ganon din kaya di ka manggigitata. pwera na lang kung sa labass ang trabaho mo. kaya di talaga problema ung lagkit at alikabok. kaya minsan nakakatamad maligo pero dahil pinoy kahit gaano pa kalamig ang tubig, maliligo at maliligo ka ahahah.

i worked at ansan sa s.korea ng 2 years. na culture shocked ako dahil malayo ang kultura talaga nila sa pinas. naranasan ko ang lahat ng 4 seasons pinakamalamig ay -10 sa soul, at mapapatay mo talaga ang taong pipitik sa tenga mo🤣 dahil sa lamig. at kapag malamig kagaya ng ibang pinoy na kapag malamig at walang tubig na mainit e mag lilinis na lang tayo ng katawan kase nga malinis naman ang korea lalo na sa kapaligiran. kung sa tuli naman wala o di naman yun namin napapag kwentuhan pero siguro yung iba gaya ng ibang bansa merong di tuli siguro dahil sa relihiyon nila o ewan 🤣. diyan kalang makakaranas ng habang nag wowork eh nag iinum ng soju kada break lalo na kapag may birthday at mag outing kayo every month🥰🥰🥰

Hi Jinho! Just wanna let you know that I’m a fan 😄 I want to share my experiences with Koreans while travelling - when I went to Korea, the airport driver I booked scolded me for being late. He was furious lol so I decided to just pay the hour he waited for me (delayed flight) In Japan, I asked a Korean lady if the queue is for the food takeaway and she responded with a snarky “I don’t know!” then turned her back on me while twirling her hair with her finger. I was surprised 🤪 HOWEVER, the other Koreans I met were warm, approachable and just friendly! Hoping to go back to Korea soon pag madali na ulit makakuha ng visa 😅

I've been in Korea for almost 8 yrs Naliligo po sila once or twice a week sa sauna bath. As in general cleaning talaga sa katawan. Then pag bahay naman hilamos lang..malinis sila sa katawan Kaya lang hindi lahat. Kasi Yung iba grabe ang amoy sa bibig.. Maamoy mo talaga ang kimchi sa kanila lalo na kapag sa umaga... hehehe

Share ko lang tungkol sa ligo hahaha: nag exchange student ako sa Korea nung high school ako, springtime ako dumating. As a lamigin na tao, nung unang salpak ko sa SK hala suffering hahahahaha. Ayoko na talaga maligo sa umaga kasi di na nga din naman ako pinagpapawisan pero hala nahiya ako sa foster family ko baka sabihin di ako pala-ligo lmao, so nagffull bath ako bago magschool (parang kung sa Pinas lang) noong mga first days akong namalagi sa kanila. Tapos may isang araw na nauna ako maligo sa foster sister ko (same kami ng school na pinapasukan) tapos nagtaka siya bakit daw ang tagal ko sa banyo hahaha. Tapos nung siya yung naligo nagulat ako tapos na agad siya, sabi niya buhok lang daw yung winash niya. Di ko na tinanong kung bakit pero inisip ko nalang baka nalalamigan din kasi siya like me ahahahhaha ayun lang 😆

On taking a bath: similar to Korea, here in Japan during winters we take a bath during nighttime to wash off dirt from our bodies from a long day outside. Then in the morning we just wash our faces and brush our teeth before leaving. In the summer tho... we take a bath in the morning.
