A great day out, some really interesting stuff on display, weather you are interested in mining or not. A fantastic cafe with a large selection of food and drink, all this is run by volunteers and well worth the donation we made. I would highly recommend Pleasley Pit to anyone with a few hours to spare. Great video Dave, cheers.

Thanks for sharing this walk round. So important as they try to wipe our rich inheritance away. Brought back memories of collecting all the miners and taking them to the Pit at Fitzwilliam. Doing all the Saturday foot ball matches for the engineering over at Leeds jack lane. A few pints in the afternoon. All gone.

We also used to go round Leeds on week days collecting trainee Nurses who came from all over the commonwealth, they came here to train in our hospitals. 8 bus loads. Before privateisation we did all the schools, school trips, factories, football, busses all at cost. Using busses that would be standing doing nothing in between peek time services.
