@Scott... you stay mindful of them and dedicated to doing your best. You might slip up, but being mindful means that slip-ups don't become HABIT. Every obstical you overcome in life will make it easier. I'm not Mike Rowe, but I'm old & I know a thing or two. 😊 Best wishes!

Every powerful truth needs to be tempered with a dose of nuance. My tendency to never "whin or complain" led to my autoimmune disease not being properly treated until it was too late. Man need to learn how to advocate for themselves and communicate their needs. I agree with pledge 8 for the most part because it promotes industriousness, anti-victimization, and self -efficacy, but there are subtle differences between bitching/complaining and communicating/protesting that an axiom like P8 might obscure even more so. Over self-reliance can easily lead to not getting help when one needs it because they don't even know how to START talking about pain and sadness. This is why self-medication through alcohol and drug abuse is so common; P8 is great for the healthy in mind and body, but bad when you have an affliction that you must seek help for. My hope is that there will be another pledge that helps address these aforementioned concerns.

The difference between being a victim and a survivor is mindset. Whether you're a veteran or a domestic abuse survivor, or rape survivor... we're alive to tell our tale and with that, possibly help at least one other person come out of the dark.

And here we sit in 2022 about to switch to 2023. In Canada when a vet asked the Prime Minister Trudeau why he won’t help the vets more, Trudeau answered....”you are asking for too much”! 😳 And so now when multiple vets have asked for say a new ramp to get into their homes..one a paraplegic...Trudeau answered this request by offering the vets MAIDS...Medical Assistance in Dying! That is right! Instead of helping our vets who fought for us they are being told to kill themselves! After all it would benefit society as a whole! 😳🙄😡
@margaretwade Жыл бұрын
I'm a Canadian and I don't like Trudeau at all, but the truth is Trudeau didn't offer MAID, Veterans Affairs Canada did. But he DID say, "Veterans are asking for more than we can give." My family has a long long of army - navy personnel in it and his comment disgusted me.

Life is a LOT easier when you have 100% disability rating from both the VA and SSD and are banking 60-70K on disability alone with zero medical bills to say the least. When your service-connected disability is not readily visible...you tend to passed by or told you are a liar.

whining i agree is totally obnoxious but complaining isnt inherently wrong...sometimes you have to speak your mind if you expect change. but i supposed that really depends on what exactly your defining as "complaining"
@h0gheadS4 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry, this is just a bad outlook. Am I really just supposed to lie down and take whatever is given to me? I'm not allowed to stand up and point out flaws I perceive in any given system? This sounds like a defeatist attitude. I agree that constant whining is annoying, but to imply that all systems are perfect and require no feedback is just insane.
