How to tie an Over 2 Under 2 FootRope Knot (watch as I make and correct mistakes)
This can be used in a key fob, a bellrope or as I often do in a Cat of Nine Tails. It adds more bulk than the standard over 1 version.
Hope this is of some use, please let me know. If you like my video please share and like, It all helps.
All the cord I use in my videos is made by me on my own rope walk. I sell cord in a range of colours through my shop, here's the link.

Hope you find my video useful. If so please consider supporting my endeavours by checking out my store. I have a small selection of hand made hard laid cord for sale. Traditional hard laid cord is the perfect cord for this style of decorative knotting. If you've not used it, it will change your knotting forever. bloodknot.bigcartel.com/

Nicely done. Thank you for sharing. Have attempted Over-Two Crowning before, but I usually stopped at the "I'm confused" moment.

Dan Kolar I’ve been to that moment many times. You’ll get it with a little patience. Single strand star knots are my current nightmare.

I have been using them for years but mostly with 4 strands and I have never doubled it. I like that often with paracord it grips a bit better and is a bit bigger. I think I have found it done with 3 strands in ABOK as #706 and #707. Good idea to do a tutorial showing it with multiple strands and doubling it. I noticed that I have never been a fan of doubling these knots with paracord as they often look crooked with that material. Hard laid rope is so much more thankful with this.

I had a looked at #706 and I think you're right. I still find the naming confusing though as I see this as a footrope variation and don't see where the MW comes into it. Ashley though calls it a crown and MW. I'll keep tying and let others figure out what they are as I have no idea.

Philip Le Masurier it is a Footrope variation, but the crown and MWK description makes more sense ie is more descriptive. The MWK is nothing but a succession if Wall knots tied with the same strand. So instead of going unser all and then through ist own loop - which each in itself created an overhand knot - you could also Start a MEK by doing a wall, then go unser the Next Cord Making Another Wall etc. until you have come to your starting point. There are always more perspectives to view a knot from.

Great idea and execution. Ive been knotting for years and never thought to go over more than one strand at a time. In wire splicing you often do over one under two.

Thanks Roman, After this one I did an over 3 under 1 pattern followed by an under 3 under 1 wall. I didn't do a video as I didn't know if it was going to work or not. turned out well though. I used it as a finishing globe with the tags cut off and pushed back inside with a dab of glue.

A good knot .I noticed that you had one strand for a core and wondered if that was really needed as it looks like it could have been tied with all of the strands

You are right. It can be tied with any number. In this case I was making a cat of nine tails so I had to lose a strand.

@@plemas oh gosh hi! How funny, I mentioned to the kids today about how you make knot videos (I was trying to help them distinguish between useful KZbin videos, and otherwise..), so it seems they looked you up!
