Chris is a totally AWESOME, let me say it again, AWESOME drummer. He utterly smashed that in under 60mins. He seemed so unhappy with the outcome (because of his incredible humility), but I challenge anyone to do better in that time. Damn you DRUMEO guys, giving him something so complicated and NOT giving him better feedback for how well he did with it!

I was very distracted by them actually. It made me wonder if drummers that use them often are incapable of “turning that off” when playing music that doesn’t use them

@@pezcore350ooh, really interesting take. From experience I'd say no, it's okay to turn it off if the song calls for a straight 2 and 4. But here, I guess a lil subjective since he didn't know the vibe of the song with the odd time changes.

Amazing effort. I can't help but feel trying to add so many ghost notes on every part is distracting him from just vibing with the song itself and learning the nuances in the melody. Not a critique, as its better than I would have done, but I found the constant ghost notes distracting, so can only imagine they were making it distracting as a playing as well.

Starting a Sleep Token song and saying “we’re removing the drums so let’s see you play it” is possibly the most difficult thing a drummer could do. I’m not even a drummer, let alone musician (just a serious music listener of all genres for over three decades now), and some of ST’s songs seem like an absolute NIGHTMARE to even attempt. This dude got a listen prior to, knows the band so is aware of their ways, and STILL had a difficult time. Shows how incredible they are as a band.
